Extended Description

Dana Jones had never had the opportunity to make friends anywhere she went, and that had been the case since she was a little girl. Her father's job required him to move from city to far away city regularly so any ties she made with people from school were loose and easily slipped away.

After ten years of never settling down the Jones family bought a home in Sydney, New South Wales, and promised Dana they would be staying there for longer. Despite this she still worried she would move away and avoided meeting new people and making friends, sitting alone at lunch and not communicating with classmates during lessons.

That was until a persistent blonde boy, who introduced himself as Luke, continually invited himself to sit with her and try to make conversation. It annoyed her how hard he tried to be her friend, but that didn't scare him off. In fact, it encouraged him. He promised her he would stop at nothing to gain her trust and her friendship.

All Luke and Dana wanted was to be young and in love for as long as they could, because they shared a bond more profound and unique than could be broken by any argument they had.

But as Dana spent more time with Luke and less time with her nose in a book her grades began to drop, and it didn't take long for her parents to declare that they had had enough.

And that Dana wasn't to see Luke again.
