After patiently waiting for the teacher to finally arrive and being stared at profusely for 10 whole minutes, I hear the sound of heels down the hall, and a tall skinny woman with short black hair enters the room as her negative energy lingers the room immediately. She sets a mug reading "Best Teacher" on her desk, and parks herself on her seat before letting out a sigh. As soon as she made a sound, the whole class went utterly silent. She sat up as to start talking, and darted her frightening eyes towards me.
"Good morning. As you may have already guessed, we have a new student in our class."
Everyone's attention was now on me. I stayed silent.
"As you're not going to do it obviously, I'll introduce you to this wonderful class. This is Ivy Little. Try and be nice to her. Why don't you talk about yourself, bet everyone would be so interested."
Ignoring her blatant sarcastic remarks, I cleared my throat and spanned the whole room before talking.
"Oh, well..."
I went silent. The brunette was looking straight at me, and I couldn't concentrate.
"I came here from...another school. I would rather not say which one but, I'm here now. I guess that's it."
Awkwardly letting out a cough, I slumped in my seat thinking this dread was over.
"Wait a minute, isn't that the girl who got put in the hospital because she was a lesbian or something?" Some boy whispered to his friend, not knowing I could hear him, who was sitting on the table, but was now standing uncomfortably close to me.
''Yeah that's her! The lesbian!'' Another boy blurted out.

Of course it was me, but that group of boys only assumed I was gay because I'd never had a boyfriend. Stupid assumption, really, but I still do not understand to this very day why I had to be beaten so badly for it. I didn't want the class knowing of it, even if it did make the local news.
"Don't want some lesbo hitting on me."
A redhead sitting a few chairs down from me said. How ignorant. I thought to myself, almost enraged at the fact a person would even say that.
The lanky teacher lifted herself up and slammed her hands on her desk.
"Josh, Melissa..that's enough. Don't harass the poor girl, alright? For that, I'm giving you all an assignment for finish for next lesson. Chop chop."
The whole room filled with grunts and sighs. She darted her eyes towards me once more.
"You may call me Mrs Bilson. Welcome to our class, Ivy." She looked at me with an extreme stern look but she let out a smile. I thought this was a fresh start. But my past has followed me.

Hours passed by ever so slowly, and I almost felt adjusted to this school despite the remarks that were made in class. Class was finally over, so I headed towards the cafeteria, not exactly knowing where I was to go. Looking down at my map and not looking forward while walking aimlessly, I felt a hard knocking bump on my head and I almost fell backwards. I took the courage to look upwards, only to find the brunette from my class. My heart practically stopped.
"I...I....I am so sorry!" I stuttered, picking up my map from the ground, meeting with her eyes. She smirked at me and swept her hair behind her ears.
"It's alright. Just you know, look where you're going next time?"
I started sweating profusely and couldn't stop staring at her.
"Of course...I'm so sorry.."
Good first impression Ivy...
"Don't worry about it. You're Ivy, right? I'm Jade."
Jade..that name kept repeating itself over and over in my head..
"It's nice to meet you...Jade."
She gave me a beautiful smile, and her eyes lit up like Christmas.
"Hey, if you haven't met any friends yet, we could hang out this lunch. My boyfriend has football practice so I'm like super alone for the next hour."
Every word of that seemed distorted to me except for my boyfriend...
"Yes. That would be nice. Thanks."
"Cool. Also, ignore dicks like Josh and Melissa. They're not worth your time, trust me."
I smiled at her. She's so beautiful. I looked at every perfect curve on her body and felt ever so warm inside. I've never felt this way before.
"So, should we go?" She said with an enthusiastic yet slightly patronising look on her face. I nearly didn't answer her, as I was so hypnotised by her voice.
"Sure."
