Kissing in the Rain

 Hi, I'm Hunter Davis, 16 years old, from a small town in California, I dance,  not so called popular, and has a crush on the popular guy. Austin Brown, 16 almost 17, small town, EXTREMELY POPULAR, dating Amber. Amber Woods,  just turned 16, POPULAR, cheerleader, volleyball player, dancer, and anything else. Nakayla Jackson, my best friend, 15 and a grade younger.

 I walk into the school looking around. First day of school is always the day I try to get people who have known me forever to like me for a change. Me and Amber have never been friends. Austin has been dating her for almost 2 years. I'm not sure why because she flirts with every guy right in front of him. I guess its just a popular thing? I walk past him nervously, my heart beating, as I keep my head down to avoid him.

Me and Austin have known each other forever, but then he started dating Amber. After that he has been too busy. "Hey Hunter!" he yells as I walk past him I turn around and wave at him with the biggest smile on my face. He runs through the hall to catch up to me. "Where's Amber?" I ask him. "Yeah, we broke up over the summer. She is talking to Joshua." He said with a laugh. "That guy like two grades below us?" I ask trying to hide my laughter. "Yeah, it's kinda funny though. " he said.

The first bell rings. "I have to get to Science!" I say shoving my things in my locker. " Do you have Mr.Anderson?" "Yeah, he hates me." I slam my locker shut. "I have that class to. Don't worry, he loves me. Anyone athletic person he loves." he boasts. "ha-ha okay."

 We make it into the class as soon a the bell rings. We sit in open chairs were we are able to see each other. "Hello class, I am Mr. Anderson. Since today is the first day, you can do what you want." I run over to sit by Austin. "Hey, so there is a first day of school party at my house tonight. Wanna come?" He asked with a smile. "Sure, I'll try to come." I said blushing.

 "Hey Cutie!" Amber said hugging Austin from behind. "I heard about the party. Do you have something you want to ask me?" She says grabbing his hand. "Such as?.. " I couldn't help but laugh. "You could ask me to the party as your date." "I already have a date. Besides we broke up." He turned back to me. "Who?!" Anger filled her eyes. "Hunter" He smiled at me. She glared at me. "Fine. I'll get someone better than you!" She stormed away.

 "She is gonna kill me!" I said with a laugh. "Don't worry. I won't let her." He puts his arm around me. The bell rings and we walk out together. "So, are you gonna talk to me this year?" I ask him holding my bag on my shoulder. "Depends how cool you act." He sad sarcastically. He looks down at me and laughs. "Ha Ha very funny." I gently push him. "HEY!" Amber screams.

"I'm sorry." I told her. "sure you are!" She looked at the iced coffee on her shirt. " you probably did it on purpose!" " It was an accident. I swear." I couldn't help but laugh. "I'll get you back." She left. "You really piss her off." Austin laughed. "I know." I smiled and we walked on.

The bell rings for school to be out. Austin comes to my locker. "Hey so are you still coming to the party?" Three or four of his friend were standing there. "Yeah I'm going." He smiled at me, "but I'll have to stop at my house to get ready. what time does the party start?" "5:00" One of his friends cut in. "I ride the bus an I don't get home till around 4:30 and I have to get ready so I'll be late." "I can drive you home." Austin says. "Umm okay." I close my locker and we go.

 We drive to my house and I get out. "thanks." "no problem." he smiles. "I can wait here if you want?" "um well if you want to some inside you can." "Okay" He parks his car and we go inside.  "I just need to get change and ill be right out." Austin sits on the couch and I toss him the remote to the TV ''okay."
