Alex looked up at the clock, 9:59. Seeing at how it had been five hours since he sat down to do his homework, he figured that he had fallen asleep. He looked around, he saw his same old clock, his same old bed, his same old desk-his stomach interrupted his thought with a growl. Guess I'm hungry, he thought. He stood up to get something from the kitchen, but he didn't leave the chair. He tried again, but he couldn't. He looked down to see the ropes that tied him to his chair. He was stuck.
A voice from behind his door said "prisoner 03 has woken, warn the team."
"Warning the team," a voice replied. The owner of the voice then pushed multiple buttons, picked up a phone and said,"Prisoner 03 is ready for testing,"the man on the other end then said something that Alex couldn't hear, and he resumed saying," The boss is coming down?" More muffled speaking,"We'll ready the pulse tester."
Alex struggled harder than before. He bit at the ropes, but wasn't getting anywhere with it, when his room flooded with figures wearing black, all pointing guns at his him. When the last figure entered the room, Alex could see the the two voices he'd heard earlier. They were saluting to someone he couldn't see. Suddenly his view was obscured by a man wearing a white mask, the man then signaled to a nearby figure and it pulled down on a cord on one of his walls. The wall came down to reveal a metal machine that was then rolled over to Alex.
The man in the mask pulled a knife from his sleeve and cut the ropes on Alex's right hand. Alex started to struggle, he twisted his right arm around, and pulled back, he had one arm free! He then took the masked man's knife and went to cut the ropes off of his legs when a shot rang out from the direction of one of the black figures. "No!" Alex could hear the masked man say as he drifted away. Everything he had ever seen or done ran through his mind as he could feel himself falling away. Falling all the way to a small bed somewhere in the sunny city of San Francisco.
