Alex woke in a puddle of sweat. What the hell just happened. He thought to himself, for even though he knew it was a dream, the events that had just taken place had felt far too real. He looked at his clock. It read 6:20, almost time for him to get up and go to school. He thought about it for a second, but decided not to go back to sleep for the extra 20 minutes. He didn't want to risk another one of those dreams. He took a second just to breathe, and then got up to take a shower. He carried out his morning routine as if it were any other. He combed his hair, brushed his teeth, ate a bowl of cereal, and then left the house ready for another day of school. Maybe if he knew he wouldn't be coming back to that house ever again, he would've changed his routine slightly. Alex came to a fork in the road. He knew very well that the fastest way to school was to the left, but something in his brain told him to take the right this time. He continued walking down the left street when he heard some one say," Hey! You!" Alex turned around there was an elderly man standing out on his porch. Now, on any other day, Alex would have run the other direction, but as you may have guessed, this was not any other day. Alex walked toward the elderly man and said," What is your name?"
"Alex, uh, Alex Fredrickson. Alex replied. "Alex, is that short for Alexander by any chance?" The old man said. "Yeah, but I prefer to be called Alex, uh, anyway, I really got to get to school so if you don't mind, I-" "Sh!" Said the old man. "This is very urgent, Alexander, I need you to do something for me." Alex looked at the old man, and just couldn't say no, he felt bad for the man, who was very possibly nearing the end of his life. "Okay, but try to make it quick, I'm in a rush." "All I'm asking of you," said the old man," is a hug." Alex looked at the old man for a second. His judgement was very obviously clouded on this particular day, for he walked up the porch, and very gingerly gave the old man a hug. As he was about to break away from the hug the old man whispered in his ear. "Sometime today you will see a man wearing all black, he will have a team of people with him, as soon as you see him raise his hand in the air, run." And before Alex knew it, the old man was gone. Alex stood there blankly, before running off to get to class.
