I was woken up by cold water being splashed on my face. I jumped, obviously startled. Who the fuck does that to someone!? I thought only people in movies were stupid enough to actually go through with such a childish prank! Ugh! I'm living in a house of delinquents.
"What the hell!?" I whisper-yelled since all the lights were still off throughout the house.
"Rise and shine, princess." A male voice said, trying to hold back his laughter.
"I swear to you Jordan, do that again, and you WILL be castrated." I threatened.
"Sure, sure." He spoke through fits of laughter. "You have to go shower and get ready for tonight." He continued to explain.
"Where are we going tonight?" I asked for the first time.
"The bathroom you'll use is in Blair's room since she has clothes for you too. Up the stairs, second door to your left." He explained with a smirk.
"Why are you smirking THIS time? And seriously, where are we going tonight?" I asked, tired of their constant smirking, as if they knew something I didn't. And they always avoided my questions which was starting to get old really fast.
"Oh no reason, I just can't wait to see what you'll be wearing for tonight." He said as he quickly turned around and left. What the fuck is wrong with these people!? They act so different from the shy, nice kids I knew back home. These versions seemed to be heartless players, and not the sporty kind although they were pretty fit... Whatever. I needed that shower.
.............
"The shower is there." Blair said, jerking her thumb behind her. "Your clothes will be waiting for you on the couch over there." She said as she walked out of the room and slammed the door.
I showered quickly, scared that someone might walk in since the fucking door had no lock. For gang members, they sure don't know anything about privacy and shit like that. How am I even going to get dressed in peace!? It won't be peaceful, I can tell you that. I'll be jumpy and paranoid. Great.
I walked out of the shower and wrapped a green towel tightly around myself. I brushed the tangles out of my hair and walked over to the couch to see what had been laid out for me to wear... Oh HELL TO THE FUCKING NO! I mean, I guess it wasn't that bad, but for me? Yeah, it wasn't my style. There were a pair of black, leather short shorts and a red crop top with a sweetheart neckline and a white, simple blazer with sleeves that ended right above the elbow and a length that reached the hemline of the shorts. There were a pair of black wedge ankle boots at the foot of the couch too.
I mean I don't even think I can fit in these clothes. And they are way too short....and too revealing. Blair barged through the door and stopped dead in her tracks.
"Why aren't you dressed yet?" She asked.
"Because these clothes are like ten sizes too small." I said in exasperation. She smirked.
"We're the same size sweetheart. They are your size." She said. "Now put them on." She demanded as she stormed out of the room. Well I didn't really have much of a choice since the clothes I had come with had disappeared. I reluctantly put on the clothes and looked in the mirror. Great. Just great. Peachy. Perfect! My stomach was visible for crying out loud! There was barely any skin NOT showing. I feel kind of skanky and not comfortable at all.
I applied a minimal amount of makeup out of what she had set out on the little counter and made my way down the stairs. I froze as I heard voices in the room.
"Do you really think she's ready for this Blair? I mean, this could get dangerous for her." Nat stated.
"Since when are you so concerned with someone else's well being?" She asked icily. Damn. I'm a fucking bitch. Knowing Nat, she was probably rolling her eyes at me...Her.
"She needs to learn what we deal with every day. Besides, maybe it'll teach that bitch a lesson. No one ever gets away with talking to us the way she has since the moment she got here. It's time she's put in her rightful place." Ray spoke up angrily. Well then. I can see who doesn't give a shit about me. Great friends, really.
"I agree she needs to be knocked down a few pegs but, Blair, the Silvers are going to be there tonight. She's an easy target. It's a huge risk." Leah stated. Who the hell are the Silvers!? Is that their rival gang!? Are they taking me into a potential danger zone!?
"She'll be fine. I'M the one on duty tonight, aren't I? She'll be more than safe." Jordan stated cockily. If he's my guard dog tonight, I might be dead already. Damn. I was really looking forward to living.
"Obviously." Leah said sarcastically, obviously annoyed with his ego. If it counts for anything, I am too. I decided enough was enough and walked into the room they were in.
"You know, talking about someone while she is in the same house, about to come downstairs, isn't the brightest idea. But please, do go on." I said sarcastically as I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed and looked at them expectantly.
"Eavesdropping much?" Ray growled towards me. Huh, he really hates me.
"Hmm, I'd say it's more of coming within earshot when I'm SUPPOSED to be here." I responded.
"Look, it doesn't matter that she heard, she's gonna find out sooner or later so who cares?" Jordan intervened.
"Exactly. Let's head to the cars then." Blair said with an authoritative tone. Everyone listened and grabbed their various weapons, hiding them in secret pockets on their wardrobe, as they filed out of the house with chatter of excitement in the air. I don't know how I feel about this...oh wait, I do! I don't want to go out there! But maybe if I go, I'll find a way to escape...right? I'm smart...Hopefully smart enough to find a way out of this damn universe too."You coming, Princess? Or are you going to stare off into space all night with that little pout of yours?" I heard Jordan ask only inches from my face. I rolled my eyes and tried to walk past him but his arm went up and he leaned against the wall, blocking my way.
"What now?" I asked in exasperation as I looked towards him. He was smiling like he was genuinely happy and it looked...kind of cute...Umm let's ignore that thought. "Why are you smiling like that? It's weird." I told him, trying to sound totally unfazed by his proximity and his amused eyes.
"No reason." He said shaking his head and replacing his smile with a cocky smirk. Ugh. "You look good by the way. Save me a dance at the club." He added with a wink. I had totally forgotten what I was wearing and his comment only made me more self conscious about my outfit. I grabbed the blazer and tried to wrap it around myself more securely, hiding as much skin as possible. "As if that's gonna stop me." He said with a strange look in his eyes that I could not distinguish since he started walking towards the door.
I stood in shock for a couple more seconds, trying to figure out what had just happened. He was wearing dark blue jeans with a grey V-neck and a dark tan jacket with its sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He looked...good...but I had to snap out of it and concentrate.
I was the last one to exit the house and head towards the cars. When I reached the driveway I saw two black Maseratis Granturismo S Superiors with tinted windows waiting. Damn, either they are really rich or amazing at grand theft auto. I'm assuming it's the latter considering there were grand theft auto Xbox games scattered around the console. They must have gotten excited and decided to get their own Maseratis. But then again, it's only an assumption.
The passenger door to the car closest to me opened and Bennett popped his head out, telling me that I'd be riding in the back with them. With a sigh, I trudged towards the car door and got in, feeling the anxiety rising as the car purred to life and we drove out of the driveway.
OK THIS CHAPTER WAS A SOMEWHAT FILLER AND A SOMEWHAT SET UP FOR THE EXCITEMENT AND ACTION THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT CHAPTER. I'M SERIOUS WHEN I SAY THAT SHIT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN! LOL THANKS FOR READING AND I'LL BE BACK AGAIN WITH A NEW CHAPTER SOON!
