Chapter 2

I hoped out the car and walked up the steep path to Lacey's house. The removal had arrived about 5 minutes ago and all the boxes still had to be taken into Lacey's house. Mom bounded up the steep path and to the door where Lacey greeted her.
"Thanks so much for agreeing to look after Poppy, I don't know what I would do without you."
I looked around at my surroundings. The house was truly splendid, now I know why mom had been so excited about me coming here.
"It's not a bother it will be nice to have a girl around the house for a while ."
What what what? I screamed inside my head. I thought Lacey had daughters, oh no! I was mentally freaking out!
"I best be getting off now, I don't want to miss my flight. Bye honey love you, I'll phone you when I land"
"Love you too mom, have a safe flight"
And with that we hugged and kissed then her taxi arrived and off she went. I was getting quite worried about grandpa, I really hoped he was okay. Anyway I had to focus on my new house for 6 months.
"POPPY, HELLO POPPY?" Lacey was almost screaming at me. Oops I had been just standing there daydreaming.
"Ehh sorry I'm fine I was just thinking about something." I muttered under my breath.
"I'll get Alfie, one of my sons to show you around."
Wait, what? ALFIE FRASER is your son?! I was so confused. That meant I was going to be living with Alfie, Andrea's boyfriend! I thought in my head. I suppose I will have to get on with it. Maybe I could piss off Andrea (jk).
"Oh um yea ok" I awkwardly stammered.
"Alfie come down here now!"
"Okay be there in 2 mins mom"
Lacey gestured me to come in and I sat down on the Italian couch. We sat there for what seemed like 10 hours but was probably only like 3 minutes.
" Why don't you leave your bags down here then you can come and get them once you know your way about the house." Lacey said.
"Yea ok sure." I replied
Then Alfie appeared topless!
"Alfie go put a shirt on now!"
"Chill mom, it's fine. Poppy doesn't mind do you Poppy?"
I was like WHAT how do you know my name but inside my head. I didn't know what to say.
"I don't really mind." I said which was a big mistake.
"So you want to worship my sexy body now,  do you?"
"Stop making Poppy uncomfortable Alfie and show her around NOW!"
"Okay mom sure."
"Right so this is the big living room." He said.
I thought to myself how many livings rooms is there in this mansion.
"It's very Italian." I replied
He shrugged.
"Now if you go to the left then take the first door that's the bathroom then if you take the second door that's the kitchen and there's a patio then the garden." Alfie explained.
It was quite hard trying to take it all in but Alfie was very understanding. He showed me the sleek kitchen, the Victorian bathroom and at last the magnificent garden.
"There all so nice." I said.
"I suppose." Alfie said
I wondered how many rooms this massive mansion had downstairs.
" Now if you go to the right there's 3 doors. The first one leads to the laundry room. The second one leads to our store cupboard room. The third leads to the basement." Alfie told me.
I saw the tidy laundry room, not a thing was out of place. The store cupboard was a bit messy and had lots of old junk and things like that. The basement however was amazing. When you opened the door there was a staircase with fairy lights that went straight down then as you got down the stairs it was a leisure room! I loved it already.
"It's amazing." I said to Alfie.
"You should see the rest of the house!" He exclaimed.
"Well why don't you show me." I said then stuck my tongue out.
"Well come on then follow me." Alfie said.
We arrived back in the 'big' living room. When I noticed that the only thing I hadn't explored was upstairs.
" The house has 5 floors, if you count the basement and rooftop Alfie said.
"Wow" I replied.
"Come on now follow me" He said whilst moving me in the direction of the stairs. Then I turned around and our lips met. Sparks instantly flew, well for like a quarter of a second it wasn't even a kiss but I felt something. It didn't matter anyway cause he was with little miss perfect Andrea and he loved her, not me. Who could ever like me? 

Alfie however just pretended like it never happened. "This way."

"Okay." I awkwardly stammered.

He led me up the stairs. We then turned right walked down the corridor a bit then stopped at a room. He walked in.

"This is your room, its pretty chill." He said smoothly.

I looked around and admired it. The room was fairly big with an en suite! The walls were a lime green colour and there wasn't any carpet it was flooring instead. There was a big purple heart shaped rug on the floor, a double bed, mirrored wardrobe and a few sets of drawers. Apart from that the room was empty. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a little bedside table in the corner. It was rather small but quite chic looking.

"Yeah it is" I replied to Alfie

"I'll show the rest later I go to go now, bye." and with that he left

I just stood there for a moment thinking then decided to call Jason but first I would need to tell Lacey. I ran downstairs and spotted her in the kitchen.

"Hey Poppy are you settling in ok?  I'm just about to take your bags upstairs to your room. Do you want some dinner you must be starving? How are you?"

"Yeah, I'm okay just now and fine. I wanted to ask you if I could go to Jason's house to work on our project for school?"

"Of course Poppy you don't need to ask me,  just let me know, see you later." 

"Bye."

I walked outside then realised I still had to phone Jason. I really hoped he was in.

"Hey!"

"Wassup?"

"Can I come to yours like right now, to work on the project."

"Keen aren't you?"

"Em..."

"Chill Poppy I was just joking."

"Ehm I totally knew that."

"See ya soon,bye."

"Bye."

I quickly texted Orla and Grace to fill me in on what had happened. I remembered where Jason's house was because a few years ago he had a party at his house and somehow I was there. It took me about 5 minutes to get there. I walked up the marble drive and awkwardly knocked on the door. A tall business looking woman answered the door.

"Why are you here, bothering me at this time of day?"
