A/N Chapters will be a bit longer than this. This chapter is just a starter to get you immersed.
I woke up feeling ill. A skeever living in the small cave I was camping in had bitten me in the middle of the night. I don't know which disease I had contracted, I had barely any knowledge about illnesses, I didn't think it would be a topic I needed to learn about. But when you're out in the wild, you need to know everything. I had only just found that out. Over the horizon, on the right I could make out a small shack, with a woman sat on a bench. On the left side, I saw some rock pillars, but I couldn't quite make out what they looked like. I chose to go to the Shack first, maybe she could help me find a way to get to Whiterun? I had been searching for days and nights, but I had lost my sense of direction when I dropped my compass in a lake. I didn't dare go after it, I knew the dangers of Mudcrabs, those giant creatures which dwelled in deep lakes or beaches. So I set off for the shack. Straight forward, I could see some giant mountains, which seemed to be the ones I came over, next to Markarth. I knew that the Forsworn are swarming around that area, so I was extra careful going around the Reach. But I didn't even know if those WERE the mountains that I came from. Hell, they could be leading all the way to Hammerfell for all I know. I stepped out of my bed, with my full set of fur armor and my steel sword rolled up my bed, and gathered up my my food and tankards, before sticking them all in my backpack. It was time to set out.
The journey down-lake was not too far, but the shack was perched on top of a small cliff, overlooking the strange stones. I had hoped not to see a Mudcrab, or worse a slaughterfish, but I did end up seeing both while stepping very close to the shore. I almost screamed when I saw the slaughterfish, as I have a giant phobia of them. As the shack got closer I began to slow down, having gotten exhausted from running like a madman from the slaughterfish. I was now within 50 metres of the shack, and I could make out the woman to be an old lady. Once she noticed me coming up the side of the hill she stood up and stared at me. It's only now that when I looked over the side of the hill, the beauty of Falkreath Hold, or Skyrim in itself. I was fixed on the scenery, until I realised I was being stared at. I quickly blinked, and turned around and walked over. "Hey I was-" I began, but the old woman interrupted me. "I'm just a poor old woman, dear. No need to trouble yourself with me." She told me, as if warding me off. "Excuse me, but I need to get to White-" I started explaining, until she interrupted me once more. "It's tough, just scraping by out here. But I make do." She said to me, as she got up, and started tending to her crops. This woman doesn't seem quite right, making herself seem innocent, and cutting off all attempts of questions. I'm gonna find out what's up. Although I'm not the best sneaker, I can still get around towns without anyone seeing me. As she trotted around the corner, I opened the door. It made a very loud creaking noise, but thankfully the woman didn't seem to have very good hearing. I crept in, still on alert; you never know what could be thrown your way. The floorboards creaked, and spiders silently walked across the ceiling. Below me was a small trapdoor, unluckily it was locked, but I brought 10 lockpicks with me just in case.
In about 30 seconds the trapdoor was unlocked, and I shuffled in, closing the top above me. What I saw made me almost faint. The room was full of arcane enchanters and alchemy tables, and other potions, satchels etc. There was a letter over on a table, I looked at it curiously before studying the words. It read:
Helgi, dear, why do you hesitate? You can feel the power coursing in your blood! You have only to reach out and grasp it! Renounce that boy of yours and come, come live with me in the forest. My sister will be here soon. Together, we can form a proper coven, and your training will truly begin.
Who is that woman, and what are they doing...?
