Chapter One, Who Am I

Ajax and I are walking down the school hallway going to our next class which was choir our third period class. He says he's only in it because I am but I know that's a lie he likes it. And yes his name really is Ajax he hates it everyone makes fun of him for it. Ajax is tall about 5'8" kinda skinny but musclar like total six pack, thick black hair that hangs over his left eye and the prettest bright blue topaz eyes anyone has ever seen. Actually his eyes are the only ones I have ever seen like that. He's awesome my bestfriend and every girls crush. Oh yea hi my name is Aino Cecelia Navaeh.

I'm 5'4" with a beach tan except for the fact that I don't go to the beach that often actually really not ever unless it's at night then I'm game. I've got long black hair with bangs that cover my left eye because I get tired of people asking about my birth mark. My eyes are a really wierd gray and when I go in the sunlight they almost look silver so I just wear color contacts and make them dark brown. That way I look normal. We make plans to hang out after school and head into class. Only to find out that we have a sub and are watching the Wizard of OZ again. "Hey after this it's lunch!" I whisper.

"Thats what I'm looking forward to haha" he whispers back.

At lunch we take our seats by the window and wait for the others to join. These are the best seats in the whole cafeteria. As seniors we own this spot. I like looking out of the window while listening to everyone else talk. I love the trees listening to the birds sing. I long to go out there so I think of my friends and how much things are going to change when we graduate this year.

"Hey so what's going on later?" Jenny asks taking her seat next Ajax giving him a peck on the cheek. "Pool party at Cece's just the group." He says while grabbing her hand. Oh god please tell me the others are coming I do not want to be the third wheel. I think to myself while trying to come up with excuses to leave not that I'm jealous or anything I just don't like hanging with them when it's just us three. But thankfully Devon walks up and sits next to me. "Tiffany isn't coming to lunch today her art teacher said she needs more practice." Devon says grabs my arm and yanks me to the food line. "I'm starving" he says we get our food sit back down at the table.

I clear my throat so the love birds stop making out. "Where's Jess at?" I ask before taking a bite of cheese pizza. Chesse pizza is what I normally eat everyday. I don't eat meat it's just so gross so the other food just has no appeal to me. "He went to get food. Hey Cece when are we going shopping for dresses? The dance is getting closer you really should stop putting it off. It's only like a week away." Jenny asks me. I was really trying to avoid this convo this isn't going to go well. Ugh here I go.

"Mmm well umm I'm actually not going." I say keeping my head down waiting for it to come.

"Oh no no no you are NOT getting out of this. You are so going. Don't even try to fight it. Okay were going shopping tomorrow around two." Jenny says while pointing a finger at me. "Why don't you want to go?" Ajax says thankfully Devon cuts in and distracts them. "OMG did you see the new line J.Lo put out? It's so de-lish!" Atleast he distracted Jenny they start a convo on J.Lo while Ajax gives me a glare.

I pretend like I dont notice grab my phone and text Jess to hurry up I need back up. And then he appears to save me. "Hey guys have you heard that one song from Jessie J. She's awesome!" he says sitting on my other side bumping his shoulder into mine letting me know he's here for me no matter what. I give him a smile letting him know how grateful I am. "Haha no Jess i haven't heard 'that one song'" I say while laughing. Ajax shakes his head grabs his phone and starts texting while me and Jess go into a convo on the song then my phone vibrates. I should have known. He was not going to give it up.

Ajax: Answer my ?

Me: Later

Ajax: Grr fine but ur not gettin out of it!

I was going to have to think of something to tell him. Jess asked me why I needed back up and I told him he said don't worry just go and dance with other peoples dates and it'd all be gravy of course I laughed it off and headed to class. English sucked. I went the rest of the day avoiding Ajax which is hard since the rest of the day we have classes together. At home I let my parents know that the others were coming over to go swimming they said it was cool. Like always they don't really pay much attention to me or what I do. My friends think it's awesome but really it kinda sucks. I ate did homework wrote on my blog and then got ready and went down to my indoor pool.

Ajax is already there waiting. Wearing his black swim shorts I take a quick peak at his shirtless body to see that sexy six pack hmmm yum. Hey I'm a girl I can't help it. Ugh great now I can't avoid it. "Hey we need to talk." he says ugh he's really gotta do this doesn't he? "Look Ajax don't be a bummer k I would really rather not talk about it. OK?" I say heading to the pool he blocks my way.

"No that's not ok. I'm your bestfriend you should talk to me. What's going on? Why don't you wanna go to the dance?" Wow he really sounds concerned. Psh whatever he's got his girl, Devon's got his guy, Tiff has her bf and Jess has his many girls. But me? I'm a loner. I've got no one and I just don't feel like going and watching all the other couples dancing while I lean against the wall. No thank you some how that just doesn't sound appealling to me. Go figure.

"It doesn't matter." I say and jump into the pool hoping he'll drop it. But he doesn't he just jumps in after me and keeps talking. "I'm not gonna drop it so you might as well just tell me." the only way to get it over with is just say it and be done so I take in a deep breath look him in the eyes and say "Because I don't have a date and I don't want to go and watch you and all the others dance with their dates while I sit in a chair and look stupid. IS THAT OKAY WITH YOU!!!" My voice raises at the end

"Not everyone can have a perfert life like you. Not everyone can get the girl or guy in my case. Have the perfect family the perfect job. Is that what you wanted to hear? I'm a loser Ajax and that's all there is to it ok. So will you please just let it go? I'm asking you please just drop it ok." He just stares at me mouth open with nothing to say of course. That's about when the others walk in.

I tell the others to have fun and I'll be right back just gotta go in the house real quick. They say ok and jump in. As I stand in the kitchen putting myself back toghether I hear voices coming from my fathers office. I go to see what's going on the door is crack and I hear my mothers voice. "We have to tell her John. We can't just move and not tell her why. She'll already be upset that we have to move, we shouln't lie to her. That will only make her more mad." My fathers voice cuts in. "Oh and what do you suggest we tell her? Mmm... Yea got nothing. We can not tell her the truth. The angels are coming and she's not ready we have to take her away that'll give her a few more years." and thats when I lose it and walk in the room.
