*Isla's POV*
How does it feel to know your own death? Feeling weaker as the days go by? I've been feeling like this for the past year. When they found the cancer, I broke down completely. Ultimately, I lost hope. Then I realized I would make the best off the time i have left, so i replaced the the frown with a smile, and cry for a laugh.
When I saw Cameron, I saw a boy who likes being alone. When you know you're living on the edge of death you notice the small details. The autumn hair boy with the brown eyes was the one I would change, my last project.

*Cameron's POV*
After the first day of my new school, I dreaded going back, but for the sake of my mother, I went back. Each time a person had come up to me I had completely ignored them. After they saw I didn't want to talk they stopped trying except for the perky Isla.
4 days later, Isla called me to work on the project. I hesitantly accepted. 5 minutes later I heard the doorbell ring . I open the door to find Isla there with books. To say I was nervous was a understatement, I didn't want her to get close to me.
As the days flew by, I saw more of Isla. Her perky personality was able to do what no one has done. She took down my walls that I built and became my friend. It's all thanks to the science project we had together. I still would have preferred that we didn't have the science project together.

Each time I took a glance of Isla, she looked more confined. In gym class, she no longer took part in the activities she used to cherish. It's like she lost that glint of happiness she always used to carry. After school we had planned to go to the park. I wanted to ask her what was wrong with her the last few days.
"Hey Isla" I greeted her
"Hey Cameron" Isla replied then coughed.
"Are you okay? You look extremely sick." I commented
" Yea... I'm... I'm... " She rasped before she fainted.
I catched her just in time before she hit the pavement. Looking for her phone I reached her pocket and took her phone out. Turning the screen on I saw a picture of us at the amusement park last month. I called her parentsa and waited impatiently for them to pick up.
"Hello?" Isla's mother pick up and speak
"Hi... um... this is Isla's friend Cameron.. She kind of fainted." I explained
"She what? Where are you?"She asked worriedly,
I gave her the direction to the park. After 5 minutes, I was still holding Isla unconsciously in my arms just waiting for her parents to arrive. Then I spotted a car come along , The person in car screamed,
" Get Isla in the car!"
I did what I was told and was going to get in the car with Isla until her mother came and said
" Thank you for calling us. We'll just take her to the hospital. You can go now."
"No. I'm coming with you I don't want to leave Isla alone." I responded.
I got in the car and then Isla's mom sighed. We drove all the way to the hospital.
When we were in the waiting room I had no idea what was going on or how serious she was sick. We had waited for at least 45 minutes until a doctor came out and explained what was happening.
"Are you with Isla Blossom?" The doctor asked.
Me and her parents nodded.
He continued, " I'm so sorry. Isla doesn't have much time left as we said before. A month and a half at the most if she stays here. If you want to go and talk to her, she's awake now. Go to room 247. I'll talk about the expenses later."
He finished talking and went back to work. I didn't know what has been happening but all I knew is that Isla didn't have much time. I turned around and faced her parents.
"She's going to die?" I asked her parents.
"Unfortunately... If you want you can go speak to her." Her mother said calmly.
" How can you be so calm when your daughter is dying." I couldn't
help but ask.
I turned around and made my way to Isla's room without giving her mother a chance to speak. I open her door and sat next to her.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked straight away.
"I didn't want you to worry." She simply replied.
"Just leave and forget about me. It'll be easier for you to let me go." She continued.
"No. You only have a limited time to live, I'll be here with you." I stubbornly remarked
"How much time do I have left?" She asked
"It's better if you don't know" I said not wanting her to worry about her death.

I came to her everyday after school during the weekends and every chance i could get before she died. In the days I visited her she explained to me she had cancer and there was no way there was a cure.
Isla's time was up. Each time I came to visit her she looked as pale as the sheets. The doctors had warned me about her worsening condition and said her time was shorter than they had predicted. Even she knew her time was running out. It was a saturday. I decided to visit her at 6pm.
