What do I ship?

5th ship: Kaneki X Hide

Anime, game or TV show?: anime, Tokyo ghoul
Just who are they?:
Kaneki and Hide are from the popular anime Tokyo Ghoul and were best friends before events that lead to Kaneki becoming a ghoul himself. Kaneki distanced himself from Hide in fear that he would reject even though Hide had known all along and said it was actually quite cool that he was.

A little bit about them:
Kaneki: (the one with the book)
Kaneki was just an ordinary teenager who lived alone and loved to read and had great grades. However all that changed when a date goes wrong and an accident leads to him turning into a half ghoul which means he still had some of his humanity intact which meant that that side of him had trouble dealing with the whole "ghouls can only eat humans" thing.
However after some events he comes to terms with this and becomes totally badass!

Hide: (little cutie with the headphones)
Hide was Kaneki's best friend since the two were kids and when Kaneki starts to distance himself he becomes concerned for him and tries to contact him only to find that Kaneki's not answering whenever he tried.
In the second season, Hide returns as a mail guy for the people who kill ghouls and in the end he helps them however this very sadly lead to his demise.
He and Kaneki reunite only for a injury Hide had was very serious and he died in Kaneki's arms.

Why I ship them:
I ship them because these two boys were so close and they cared a lot about each other, Kaneki distancing himself because he didn't want Hide to know and he wanted Hide to be safe and Hide trying to contact Kaneki to make sure he was ok and even learning about ghouls himself and the fact that he knew all along and even then he continued to care for Kaneki.
They were so close and caring.

A small one shot:
(Set before the anime events)
"Yo Kaneki!" Hide cheerfully greeted Kaneki on the street.
"Hey Hide," Kaneki greeted a little quieter.
"So where're we off to today?"
"I told you yesterday that I needed to return these books."
"Oh yeah, totally slipped my mind sorry."
"Just like usual."
The two walked together side by side and talked until they arrived at the library and returned the books and then the two returned to Kaneki's little apartment that he lived alone in.
"Man don't you get lonely here?" Hide asked as they sat down together.
"Sometimes but it doesn't bother me," Kaneki replied.
"Well if it does then tonight I'm staying so that you're not lonely ok? No excuses."
"If you're absolutely sure then I guess that's ok."
The two were as close as ever and they were so sure that they'd be together forever but the dark future was waiting to be lived.
