|Chapter One|
Ana
I finally got home after a long long long drive. I could have taken the plane but I wanted to drive. I wanted to see the scenery. And I guess I wanted to be by myself.
What didn't help was that Trent kept calling and texting me. I have 467 missed call and 200 texts. I guess he realized that I ment what I said about leaving. I'm going to have to change my number soon. And I can use a new phone too.
It is about 5:15 am and I just pulled up to my parents drive way. I'm staying with them until I find my own place. I could stay with Karoline but she's married and I think it will be kinda awkward. Let's just say they are a very very passionate couple.
As I park my car I look up at my childhood home. Same baby blue two story house I left. Well its not totally the same. The front porch looks renovated. There's a new porch swing which looks really comfortable.
I get out of my car with my purse in hand and head to the front door. I haven't seen my parents in a couple of years so I'm really excited to see them. It sounds bad but I didn't always get the chance to come home and see them. Trent kept me away from them and I let him.
I get out of the car and make my way up to the front door. I hope they're awake by now. I was originally gonna get a hotel but they insisted on me coming home. I'm their only daughter so they are a bit overprotective of me. Especially my dad.
No one answers the door so I ring the doorbell again. I wait a while and still no one answers the door.
"Come on." I say out loud to myself. "I told them I would get a hotel."
"Ugh I knew this was going to happen." I say to myself out loud.
As I go to ring the doorbell again someone opens the door.
"Ana?!"
"Hi Dad." I say as he brings me in for a bear hug.
"Oh my little girl! Come in come in. You must be so tired. Claire look who's finally here."
"Oh my baby girl is home."my mother says as she comes from the kitchen towards the entry way. "Are you hungry, tired, should I run you a bath. What do you need?"
"Mom I'm fine. I am a little tired though"
"Come on let's get you up to your room. Its not the same." I look back at my mom with a confused expression. "We turned it into a guest room. We didn't know if you would ever come back" She replies guiltily.
"Its okay Mom. As long as there's a comfy bed I'm good."
So I make my way to my old bedroom. As I step inside I notice that indeed its not the same.
The walls that used to be lavender are now a cream color. The twin bed is now a king. The bookshelf that was filled with books is now filled with little knick knacks. The closet is now empty as well as the cabinets. The bathroom which used to be a garden theme is now baby blue with a beach theme.
"It doesn't even feel like home." I think to myself as I lay on the bed and close my eyes.
