Ruckus music, people screaming, yelling, and drinking, surrounded fifteen-year-old Damon Black.
"I fold" the man across the table from him said.
"Me too" grunted a second man.
"Cowards" Damon coughed.
A staggering blow hit Damon's face. The table overturned and a full fledged bar fight then ensued.

Damon ducked as a bottle flew over his head and exploded against the wall. A rough looking man with most of his teeth missing, snarled and drew a dagger from his belt. He was one of the poker players who had just lost an enormous amount of money to Damon in the last three hours worth of games. They were all addicted to gambling. He smiled and tilted the dagger so it caught the like and blinded Damon for a split second, just long enough for the man to pounce.
Damon saw the dagger in his side. His shirt became thoroughly soaked within seconds. The man with the knife had severed a major artery, Damon would bleed out within minutes and loose consciousness within seconds. The last thing Damon Black saw before passing out was the toothless smile of the grinning man above him and the lack of both his eyes grinning in unseen.
