(E/N: Hey guys! Hope you are liking the book so far! Sorry for the slightly shorter chapters. I will ask the writer to make them longer!)
Criminal's POV
Maybe killing her was a mistake. I still had not found him. He took her away from me. He got what I always wanted... her love. By the way, that busybody cousin of hers, can't keep to herself.
Stephanie's POV
"Are you sure you wanna do this? I mean... it doesn't really matter to me, I can go alone," James asked again. I rolled my eyes. "Yes, I'm sure. Now stop asking! That's the ninth time you asked, and yes, I kept track," I said, seeing an are-you-sure expression on his face.
"One cheeseburger with fries and a small coke please," I ordered, handing the cashier a ten dollar note. She handed me back my change and moved on to James. "Hello handsome. Your order?" she bit her lip as she flirted with James. "Two McChickens, curly fries, one hot fudge sundae and one 10-piece nugget. Oh yes, and one big sprite," James ordered. Her super sweetish fake smile disappeared but she immediately grinned and twirled her platinum blonde hair. My eyes widened. Was he crazy? How on earth... "Your order ma'am. And I'll give you a free six-piece nugget for being beautiful," another male cashier said dreamily. "Thanks! Stephanie, by the way," I offered a hand which he took immediately. "Jake," he grinned.
We exchanged numbers as I ignored James' fuming face, although Jake started casting worried glances at him. "Well, see ya around!" I called before James grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of McDonald's.
"What. The. Heck?!" he growled. "What?" I asked innocently, taking a small bite out of my cheeseburger. "You wasted so much time flirting with him," he shot back. "Says the person who ordered enough to feed five people!" I retorted. "And who took more time?" he asked. "Time? TIME!" I gasped looking at my brand-new Baby G neon purple watch. "It's 5 to 6!" I half-screamed. We sprinted towards the private jet.
We clambered on and the pilots greeted us, "Hello, I am your captain, Mason."a brown-haired, young male said. "And I am your co-pilot, Michael," another brown-headed said. Two stewardesses appeared, "I'm Jasmine," a blondie said. "And I'm Eliza," a red-headed continued. "You're a minute late so we better be off," Michael flashed a smile before placing his hat on his head and walking into the cockpit with Mason.
"Anything you two would like?" Eliza asked. I raised my food. "Cheeseburger." James raised his, "McChicken." "Oh ma gosh! McChicken is like totes nicer..." Jasmine said in the most bimbo-tic way possible. Eliza pulled her away. "Prepare for take-off! Press the help button for us," she smiled as she shoved Jasmine into what looks like a tight room, shutting the sliding door behind her. I sat in front of James, facing the mini TV.
I munched on my cheeseburger and nuggets when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I ignored him. He jabbed my side again. Again, I ignored him. Once again, he poked me. Starting to be annoyed, I stormed to the opposite chair at the far end and shot daggers at him. Yet again, without fail, he annoyingly followed me and sat opposite me. "Why did you do that?" he snapped. "None of your business DUDE!" I said, raising my voice.
"We are solving a case, we can't just walk around giving random strangers your number, especially guys." "Oh, hi mum! Ha ha ha. Just because you have a crush on me does not mean I can't talk to other GUYS!"
"What makes you think that I have a c-crush on you?" I glared at him. One word, IDIOT. I rolled my eyes. "We're here on a case, that's ALL. So stay away from me," I spat. His face clouded over and he plopped back down on his original seat. He placed his headphones over his head and started watching some movie. His eyes had a faraway look and he did not focus on the movie for when the victim died, he didn't even flinch.
I returned to my seat and brandished a book. '7 Ways to Hurt A Guy'.
