YoonGi huffed running down the street, just like everyday, she had woken up late and found herself running to catch the train. But today was different in the sense that she would be starting her day at a new school. "I really have to start working out" the blonde huffed slowing to a stop, hunching over to hold her knees as she tried to catch her breath. With the train station in sight she gulped down one last mouthful of air before taking off once again to the station, only stopping to grab a warm Heotteok* from the sweet Halmonie on the corner.
Yoon had never been an athletic girl. Even back at her normal highschool she had flunked out of gym class, and whenever homecoming came around, she would pray for all of the athletes to be shot down by lightning. Art and music was def more her style. Color palettes, music, dancing always came first for the blonde. She had always felt as though music was flowing through her veins, even when she was a baby.
Pulling up her hood over her beanie she swiped her train pass and checked the schedule quickly to find the right train. Rather relieved that her train was running a bit late, she rushed to the platform hoping it wouldn't be too crowded. Blowing a raspberry into the autumn air, she tugged out her cell phone, shoving her headphones into her ears just wanting to go to school, maybe learn something and go home. Yoongi didn't want to make friends, nor enemies, she just wanted to disappear when it came to her peers, and shine when it and to performing. But Yoongi was not a loner, god no. She had many friends outside of school; however, when it came to SM academy, she would have to play pretend.
Watching the train pull up before her she filed inside with the rest of the students in black uniforms that resembled a suit with the SM crest on their jackets.. "At least the uniforms are black" she thought grabbing a seat, the hard blue plastic already hurting her back. Dropping her black backpack to the floor she began to rummage through it, tugging out her still semi-warm Heotteok, she took a bite the warm doughy pancake that was filled with brown sugar and peanuts that were melting from the heat. A small smile graced her lips as she took another bite, slouching in her seat and closing her eyes hoping she would be able to catch a few z's before arriving at the hell hole.
"Ey man so I was chatting up this chick from America, " a very loud voice erupted as the train doors opened to let in a group of guys in disheveled SM uniforms, and heavy makeup. "So like she was asking me how much English I spoke so I just threw out some big words 'Antarctica, Extraterrestrial,'I swear two minutes later she was sending me a pic of her tits." the dark blonde haired boy said with a laugh leading the boys to sit on the set of seats behind Yoongi.
The girl stirred slightly at the sound of the boisterous boys behind her, their voices meeting her ears over her music. Stupid boys can't they just shutup she thought scrunching up her nose and trying to fall back asleep so she could manage to get through the day. She grabbed another big bite of her breakfast and found herself starting to doze once more.
One of the dark haired boys with a long face began to beatbox, as some of the more flowery boys swayed to the beat "I need you girl, wae honja saranghago honjaseoman ibyeol hae. I need you girl.." one of the others began to sing, his voice almost as bright as his red hair.
But they were still being much too loud. Pulling off her headphones with one swift tug she turned back in her seat, glaring at the boys. "Hey..." she started, her words getting snuffed out by their singing. Clearing her voice she shouted. "Hey!" No response. What was she invisible to these rich kids? Huffing and reaching out to grab the one that appeared the most feminine's hair, tugging back sharply. "I said hey!" The boy with the dark brown hair screamed, the singing slowly stopping as the group of guys turned to focus on the person that had ruined their good time.
"What was that for?" the feminine boy asked with a pout, YoonGi glancing at his name tag to see his name was Jin.
"Don't you know how rude it is to make so much noise in a public space?" The blonde said with a glare.
"Don't you know how reckless it is to be sleeping on a train?" The one with the light brown hair, TaeHyung said tilting his head to the side and giving a smile. Yoongi couldn't tell he if was genuinely worried about someone sleeping on a train, or if this was some passive aggressive way of coming back at her.
"That's not the point!" the blond huffed leaning forward to look each boy in the eye. "You should respect those around you." She continued going to take a bite of her hoeteokk only to see Jin taking a bite from it.
"just take the damn thing" she said shoving her breakfast at the flowerboy and standing up, grabbing her bag and moving to sit on the other side of the train. Knowing there was no way in hell she would be getting sleep with those morons on this train, she just stared out the window at the buildings passing by.
It was not long after that they called their stop and all of the students filed off the train.
YoonGi felt as though she were swept away by the large group of guys, stumbling over the many sets of limbs, she felt a set of strong hands grab at her arm to catch her fall. Straightening herself she watched the boys disperse to meet their friends, and met the eyes of the person who caught her. He looked quite young to have hands that strong.
"Are you ok?" the soft voice asked with a smile before letting go. "I'm sorry about my friends waking you up and taking your food....sometimes they just can't help themselves..." the raven haired male mumbled rubbing the back of his neck, looking off at his friends that were waiting for him by the large oak tree, whose leaves had already began to change. "Here" the maknae said with a smile pulling a sweet wrapped heotteok from his pocket. "It was going to be my breakfast but, you should have it."
The blonde blinked for a minute reading the boy's name tag. " Jungkook?" She whispered bringing his attention back to her. "Oh ugh it's ok really..."
"Please take it. I insist" the boy urged placing the round cake in her hand, she smiled and unwrapped it taking a big bite.
"Thanks...."
"So why are you here? Girls don't usually come to an all boy's school."
Her eyes widened as she choked a bit on her food. "what? I'm not a girl.." she said with a mouth full of food trying to cover her tracks, knowing if anyone found out about her gender, she would not be allowed to attend SM Academy. She quickly dug through her bag and pulled out her admissions letter and held it out to the younger. "It's my first day today. I'm a Junior. "
The boy eyed the paper reading it carefully, taking in the elders name before glancing back up at the blonde before him. If YoonGi was really a he, he was really pretty. Full lips, half moon eyes, and style that would kill. He smiled. "Then can I show you to the front office? I was new here last year, I know how it can be."
The blonde slowly chewed the pancake thinking it through. She appreciated his offer, and clearly appreciated the breakfast, but she knew he was already on to her, she didn't want him to get any closer. Opening her mouth to reject his over, she felt his hand grabbing her wrist. "Time's up, let's go. " The boy said with a laugh beginning to pull the elder along the sidewalk past his friends and into the large building.
Once inside the building, Yoongi tugged her arm out of jungkooks wrist. She couldn't help but feel strange that nobody was taking any notice of her. Was she really that masculine? Meeting some of her peers eyes she realized that it wasn't that she was too masculine, it was that the males were just as pretty as she was. "Maybe this will be easier than I thought" she mumbled under her breath almost missing what the maknae was saying.
"So everyone is really nice here, but that also just depends on what you're interested in." He began, shoving his hands in his pockets as they walked.
Furrowing her brow she wasn't sure she understood. "Like what?"
"Well..." The raven began thinking for a moment before smiling. "Like my friends. We are kinda not in the same clicks, but we try not to let that stop us from being friends. I'm in the vocals section, the yellow lockers" he said nodding his head at the hallway they were passing threw. "Vocalists are all in the yellow wing, Rappers are in the red wing, Dancers are in the green wing, Actors are in the Purple wing, and finally Procuders mingle in the pink wing "
The blonde felt her head swimming with all of this information she had no clue about. If she had known things were so segregated she might have had second thoughts about coming here. "And what if you have more than one specialty?"
Jungkook smiled weakly, "honestly, they don't care about your other interests, just in what you're good at. What your main specialty is. Sure I have some dance practice, but that will always come second to my vocal sessions"
She watched the boys face look almost upset that he couldn't dip his toes in other sections of music, Yoon felt her heart clench at the sad puppy as finally they came to a stop in front of the main office.
"I hope we will meet again soon, Yoongi. " he said giving a small bow before taking off to find his friends.
"Nice kid..." She hummed tugging off her beanie as she made her way into the office, the sounds of ringing phones and constant bustle of first day mishaps caused her to hesitate in the doorway.
"Can I help you?" A throaty voice asked taking the blonde from her nervousness spying an insanely handsome man approaching her. He wasn't necessarily tall, but in his fitted white dress shirt and dress pants, he looked absolutely scrumptious.
"Oh um yeah I'm new here. My name is Min Yoongi" she breathed out holding out her paper work, her eyes admiring the tattoos that snaked around the males fingers and peaked out from under his rolled up sleeves.
The male took her papers and smiled, "it's nice to meet you Yoon. I'm Jay Park I'm an advisor at SM Academy and I'll be placing you in your Color today. Just follow me" Jay said with a smile, turning to head deeper into the office and into a small room cluttered with scrap papers and empty Starbucks cups.
She took a seat on the couch and waited for the adviser to, well, advise her.
"From what your papers say you are interested in rapping and producing is that correct?" The male asked looking up at the student, feeling rather uneasy.
In all honesty, he hated placing students in colors. It was probably the worst part of the year. Jay felt that idols should have more than one specialty, and work hard to enhance all of their qualities, not just one of them. In fact, when he had attended SM, he had hated it. He hated that he had been forced into rapping and couldn't sing or dance. He loved all of his talents but with him, SM only wanted him for their own selfish needs. They could have cared less what was best for him. But it was also for this reason that he became an advisor for the students. He wanted to help them pick what was best for the students, not what was best for the company.
"Yes that's right. I feel I excel in both levels. And my dancing isn't bad either..." Yoongi said averting her eyes trying hard not to stare at the man. Sure she had dated a few guys from her neighborhood, but none of them looked like this.
Was this what people meant when they said that idols were people who set unrealistic goals for regular people?
Must have been.
Jay sighed an nodded "I see. I hate to say it but I can only place you in one color. Do you know which you would like to focus on?"
After what Jungkook had said, she had a feeling this was coming, but she hadn't thought it would be so hard to choose. Rapping. Producing. Maybe dancing. How could she possibly choose on the spot like that?

Jungkook stretched his arms over his head his mind wondering just what color Yoongi would wind up in. He looked a little too rough around the edges to be a vocalist or an actor. Was he a dancer? Probably not he wasn't fit enough. Wait why would he have noticed how fit the blonde was. Shaking his head trying not to go there he stopped walking as he heard his name.
"Jungkookah!" Jimin shouted running towards the maknae, Taehyung quickly jogging behind him trying to keep up with his fellow vocalist.
The red haired male slowed down as he reached his fellow color and grabbed the boys arm. "Where were you?! Taeyeon Noona called a special meeting we gotta go!"
"Yeah! You remember the last time we were late? "Taehyung panted, bending over to hold his knees.
The raven haired boy shivered at the thought of their beautiful scales teacher forcing them to perform the gwiyeomi song in front of the entire class. "Yeah that's not happening, come on!"
The three Yellows took off running once more, the rest of their group of friends separating into their different groups.
