"Whatever woman, " Vegeta stated. He tried to get up from the couch, and he succeeded, but not without stumbling a little. Refusing to display his damaged pride by this small blunder, he walked away from Bulma without looking back.

Vegeta approached the stairs and couldn't figure out a way to crawl up them without looking foolish. He then resolved to just fly to his room. He would have to do it fast though, flying didn't take a lot of energy, but it took more than Vegeta was able to spare and stay conscious.

Vegeta decided on this option, he may be out cold for a while, but at least his pride will stay in tact. He flew up the stairs to his door faster than the human eye could register, opened it, went inside of his room and collapsed.

Vegeta meant to do it in front of the door so Bulma couldn't open it, but Vegeta was so exhausted that he couldn't control where his body landed and was unconscious before he even hit the ground.

Vegeta woke up several hours later to a slight weight on his chest. He opened his eyes to see his lover silently weeping. He found himself stroking her hair and found it surprisingly soothing.

Bulma tensed up from the sudden contact and Vegeta almost stopped, but then she relaxed and he decided against it. Before he could stop himself, Vegeta spoke the words he never wanted to admit. "You wouldn't be crying if you were with Kakarot," he whispered.

He didn't mean to say it, but it was the truth and he couldn't take it back. This made Bulma turn her head and Vegeta saw confusion and hurt in her eyes.

"Why would you say that?" she whispered in an equal tone.

"Because it's the truth."

Now that the truth was out, there was no need to hide is thoughts any longer from the woman.

"Kakarot is nicer, stronger, funnier, and kinder than I ever care to be. I have him beat in looks and intelligence, but he is liked and accepted by everyone. I may be the prince of all saiyans, but I've been ultimately beaten by a third class warrior with the wit of a peanut. I'm not the strongest, and I'm not worthy of the most beautiful woman on this planet. The best deserves the best, so why did you pick me? I'm not the best and I will never be the best. No matter how hard I train, I will never surpass Kakarot, so why don't you become his mate, because I'm not worthy of you," he finished.

Vegeta looked back at the woman, and she had a blank expression. Finally she stated, "Goku is too good for me."

"So you just settled for me, I see how it is." Vegeta was more angry than hurt. This is the first time he'd wished he'd been wrong. He started to get up but Bulma pushed him back down.

"That's not what I meant," she rushed. Vegeta gave her an expectant look, hoping she would elaborate on what she did mean exactly.

She sighed and continued. "Yes, Goku is kinder and stronger and well-liked, but he's not the kind I would fall in love with. For one, I've created synthetic grass smarter than Goku. Two, he doesn't value those who care about him as much as he needs to.

Yeah he'll save their lives once in a while, but he stayed in dead to train instead of coming home to his wife. I've never heard him say 'I love you' to Gohan, and now that I think about it, he hardly ever says it to his own wife. You really don't tell me that either, but I can tell you love me. The way you look at me, the way you'll offer me some of your food even though you could eat every last bit of it, and the way you are so possessive over me that you guard me from everyone else when we go out. I don't want someone I'd have to babysit or never see, I want someone like you. Who cares if Goku is stronger, I still think you could thoroughly kick his butt any day you chose. I love you Vegeta, and I wouldn't trade you for anyone. I know you love me, and I'll never have to question or test the truth of that fact."

Vegeta was dumbfounded, all he could do was look at her. By this time, she was straddling his hips and getting lost in of his onyx eyes. She leaned in and so did he. When their lips finally met, Vegeta knew that she was the only one for him, and he with Bulma.

After a few seconds, he pulled away and asked,"Do you really think I can beat Kakarot?" with his signature smirk. Bulma replied with a smirk of her own, "Any day." He crashed his lips back onto hers, and showed just how much he loved her until she fell asleep in his arms.

Vegeta was on the verge of sleep himself, but he muttered something to Kakarot before he went. "Stay away from Bulma, Kakarot. She's mine."
