Avalon's POV
"What is wrong with people!!!!" Screamed my father. Oh brother I thought. Not again. Oh how rude, I didn't introduce myself. Well, hello my names is Avalon Grace Darlington but don't call me Avalon. I will hurt you if you call me that which is why I go by Ava. I'm thirteen and I have a fifteen year old brother Nathaniel Darlington, but he goes by Nate or Nathan. I like to annoy him by calling him Nathaniel. Anyway, so the stamp act was recently passed here in the colonies. Yayyyy. My parents are loyalist and think that me and my brother are too. We aren't. Nate is also apart of a group called the Sons of Liberty. He thinks I don't know but I do. We are what people call the patriots.
So anyways, my father barged into our lovely home with a foul attitude. (Something new and different.) He is always going on about something that's going on here and with the king and England and all that jazz.
"Why can't they just pay the dang tax!?!" He exclaimed.
"I don't know why don't you go ask them that yourself." I snapped. You see, my father and I don't have the best relationship and that probably didn't help me.
"You watch your tone with me young lady." Said my father.
"Whatever." I mumbled. I just returned to drawing, which I was doing before I was rudely interrupted. Just then, as my father left to go talk to my mother, Nate arrived home.
Thank you if you are actually reading this. So I got this storyline from my social studies class because we are writing essays for a contest about the stamp act. The only difference is thy this will be longer and it will have a love interest in it. The story for the contest has to be between 600-1000 words. Any way thanks for reading and please critique me or feel free to give me any ideas.
