"Hurry up, Ellie," Annabeth said while grabbing my arm. She headed towards the theater and people were coming out. "The movie just ended and you know cute guys are coming out of that theater."

"Oww! Stop pulling so hard. Why should I care?" I asked annoyed. "I don't even know why we come to the mall..." I mumbled. Annabeth stopped and let go of my arm. She smoothed out her skirt (which was super short) and looked at me.

"We come here because the guys here are fair game, duh." Annabeth ran her fingers through her hair and then took out her lip-gloss.

"That's why you come here. I don't care about things like that," I said. I stared at her and I felt the familiar feeling of jealousy. Annabeth was really pretty and she knew that. She was tall and developed. Her clothes hugged her curves and her make up was always light. She liked the natural look. Her Long, brown hair would move slightly as she walked. Basically my opposite, I guess. Why am I friends with someone so beautiful?

"And that worries me," she finally said, pulling me my out of my thoughts.

"You're fifteen, Ellie. You should have an interest in guys. Unless-"

"I'm not a lesbian," I sighed. She always brought this up. "And I don't think anything is wrong with being one. There's just nobody I'm interested in and you can't force me to be into someone either."

"Alright, whatever. All I'm saying is that I'm worried. You alright?" She asked after giving me a hug.

"I'm fine. Come on, those guys are checking you out," I said. I hated being with Annabeth when she gets all flirty, but I hated having this conversation even more. Annabeth nodded and we walked over to a group of guys. One guy particularly sparked my interest. Now, I'm not saying I like him, but this guy was kind of cute. He had black hair covering one eye, silver snakebites, and intense green eyes that seemed to look right through you. I couldn't help but stare at him. I felt like I’ve seen him somewhere.

"Hey," Annabeth said flirtatiously. She gave the three of them a beautiful smile and they all smiled back.

"Hey there," said one of the guys. He had curly blond hair and blue eyes. He looked at Annabeth with pure lust and it pissed me off. I didn't like they way these guys looked at her. I mean, she's my best friend and they probably think she's a cheap slut.

"Hi," said another guy with brown hair. I noticed that the black-haired boy said nothing. He didn't even look at Annabeth, which made me even more curious about him. I've never seen a guy not turn in Annabeth's direction. I looked at her and I could tell she noticed.

"Hello," she said looking at him directly. "It's rude to ignore someone when they're talking to you."

"Oh. Well, sorry," he said. I was completely shocked at the annoyed tone he gave her. I turned to look at Annabeth and I could see the anger in her eyes.

"Excuse me for a moment," she said with a smile. The boys began asking her were she was going. "I need to make sure my friend's alright," she replied dragging me along.

"Where are we going?" I asked as we went into the bathroom.

"To the bathroom for a minute. I need to touch up my make up," she replied.

“Why? You look as pretty as you always do.”

“Well, obviously that guy doesn’t think so.” She took her make up kit out of her purse and began applying blush.

“So? Forget him,” I said. I kind of felt like a hypocrite saying this because I was still thinking that guy myself.

“No. I will make him mine. Those other guys are nothing compared to him. Did you even see how hot he was?”

“Nope.” It might have been the truth, but it wasn’t a complete lie either. Annabeth sighed and I mentally kicked my self. She was so going to bring up the lesbian thing again. “I’m going to get a pretzel.” I had to get out of here.

I walked to the stand and asked the tender for one. After about a minute he gave me a pretzel and I took a seat a table in the food court. I knew I looked out of place because people were staring at me. Especially considering the fact that I was the same height as 12-year-old.

"You do look out of place," I heard from behind me. I turned around and I almost died of shock. It was the black-haired guy. “You look like a tiny emo.” He took a seat next to me and chuckled. As stupid as it might sound, he had a great smile.

"What do you want?" I asked. I made sure to keep my tone harsh and cold. Guys usually left me alone if I did. Even if they called me a bitch or whatever it was better than talking to them.

"What's with the attitude? You should be happy. Hell, you should be excited," he said. I gave him a puzzled look. I had no clue what he was talking about.

“Dude, you completely blew off my friend and it was in a rude manner. What part of that made me happy?”

He gave me an apologetic look. “I didn’t mean to be rude to your friend. It’s just that I’m not into her.” I nodded with acceptance.

“It’s cool. You should’ve just said you’re gay from the beginning though.” He gave me a bewildered look. “What?”

“Why are you assuming I’m gay?”

“It’s just…I’ve never seen a guy turn down Annabeth…” Saying this out loud was kind of embarrassing. My face flushed when he laughed.

“You think guys are only attracted to girls like her?”

“Kinda,” I said quietly.

“Well, you’re wrong. I’m not gay and I’m not into girls such as your friend.”

"What?” I asked. Did I hear him wrong?

“You didn’t hear me wrong.” I stared at him with shock. He’s really good at reading people. He suddenly smirked. “What’s with the look? I’m not gay and I’m not into your friend. You should look a lot happier.”

I stared at him like he was crazy. “Um, why?”

"Because I finally found you," he said, his tone getting low and seductive. “And I’m all yours.” I was just about to ask what the hell his problem was when he pulled me closer to him. He suddenly pressed his lips against mine.
