Charlie's POV
They have started way too early this morning. It is 5am. I can't believe Valerie and Mrs Johnson, have been fighting so madly everyday for two years straight.
As I look through my window, I see Valerie lying in her bed. Her long red hair, covering her face from the left side. Her legs are almost touching the ground, while her arms are lying beside her head in a defeated posture. Noticing there are bruises on her showing tummy, I am not surprised at all.
As I get some ice from my own freezer, which is under my desk, I put it in my first aid bag and go to Valerie's window.
Opening the window, I enter carefully, on my tip toes so she doesn't wake up."Man, these bruises are worse than last month's." I mumble, as I tuck her in the bed carefully. Putting some of the ice in a piece of cloth, I put it on her bruises.
Looking around, I see that the room got just messier. The desk on the left side of the door, has more paper than ever. The floor filled with filthy clothes and bras and underwear and smelly socks. What am I going to do with you, Val?
Ever since the incident that happened three years ago, and she has been like this. Disappearing once a month, somewhere (no one knows where), and returning two days later with bruises. Her mum started to see the pattern after a year of the incident. I feel sorry for her. After getting her head out of one problem, she finds herself in another. Some might say it is Val's way to deal with what happened. But this is getting out of hand.
Taking the unwashed cloth basket, I put everything on the floor in it and then put it back to its place, on the right side of the door near her wardrobe. But not too close. Knowing Val, she probably won't even notice it is there. After that, I clean the paper on her desk. It is all some maths questions sheets and past papers for different subjects. But they were all done. Man, what exactly is this girl doing to herself? I don't think I will be able to ever understand her world ever again.
After I finished, I removed the ice away from her bruise and put some herbal ointment to relief pain. Leaving a pack of paracetamols behind, I exit Val's room through the window.
