"I can't believe this is going to be this hard!" I said in a whisper, trying to peak outside the magazine that covered our faces as we stalk Holly Hills. By stalk, yes we really are stalking. Stalking in the creepiest way ever! Holly Hills is Fox's love interest at the moment and potential prom date if things go well, I guess. I haven't really heard much about her. All I know is that she's a cheerleader, she's blonde with mega blue eyes and... I've got nothing else other than that piece of information.
"Do we really have to cover our faces? It's getting uncomfortable and really suffocating in here!" I started complaining.
"I don't want her to think that I'm some creepo stalking her."
"Well, actually you kinda are." I told him honestly which is why I got a smack in the head for saying that.
"Ow! Slow down! I was just kidding. You know what, relax. You're too nervous to do your first move. Let's remove the magazine from our faces and let's just act like we're casual friends. You'll be fine, I promise." I suggested.
We removed the magazine that covered our faces and started to act natural. We drank our frappucinos, ate along the blueberry cheesecake and we just talked about random things - school, life etc. We acted like we were casual friends. We were in the middle of our whole act-natural thing when I got a glimpse of Holly and her squad stand up from where they were sitting, a clue that they were almost leaving.
"Quick! Act natural. She's here!" I warned Fox. Fox rattled but tried his best not to show that he was. He was slightly finger-combing his hair and ate a few mints. This was going to be his first move and it was now or never. Holly was getting closer and closer to us not until a buff guy entered Starbucks and suddenly kissed Holly on the lips. They were passionately kissing. He's got to be her boyfriend.
"Fox, look." I told Fox and he turned his head to see what I was talking about. I don't know how Fox was actually feeling at that moment because he was turning his back to me but he was probably hurt.
When their kiss ended, I was shocked to see Fox grab my hand and yelled, "Babe. Let's go watch a movie!" Everyone inside Starbucks heard him which is why they turned their heads to us. We ran out of Starbucks and into the car park where Fox's car was parked. We were laughing and laughing and it was getting really hard to run and laugh at the same time, I feel like my lungs were going to burst out of my body. We reached the car park and we were still laughing and panting all at the same time. We were like little kids after a nice game of tag.
"What made you do that? Do you know everyone was staring at you including Holly?" I asked and I hit him hard in the back.
"I don't know. I just felt the need to do that!" Fox was panting but still laughing at the same time. "Well, I was just hurt I guess because I thought she was going to be the one." he added.
"There are still a lot of girls out there and prom's a month away so we still have enough time, Fox." Being the best friend that I was, I tried to comfort him. As much as Fox tried to hide what he actually feels. The hint of sadness and depression could still be seen in his eyes. I hate to see Fox in pain.
"So what do you wanna do Fox?" I tried to ask him and make him forget what happened.
"What?"
"What do you wanna do? Do you have some errands to run? Or just a few things to do? I can probably go with you." I offered.
