Prologue:

I turned, looking at my brethren and my mate. He seemed to sense that my attention was directly placed towards him and cast a glance my way. On all fours, he inched towards me. I could feel his soothing aura wash over me as he connected to my mind link.

Alba, my love, are you alright?

I nodded in response.

I'm just fine. I'm looking at my life, my family, my mate.

As I finished my sentence, two pups came running aroud the corner of the large redbrick house and stopped a few feet from me and my mate. Feeling their urge for something, I shifted into my human form. I picked up the underwear, shorts and tank top at my feet and quickly dressed.

"You may turn around now children."

"Mommy, Ash won't play with me!"

A smile cracked my stony face in half as I watched my twins fight. Ash and Temperance were identical twins, boy and girl. They were only six years and reached past my waist. Like their father, they had raven black hair and pale skin. Like me, they had electric green eyes and a firm jawline.

"Ash, be a good boy and play with your sister. You know how she is. She'll probably just want to roughhouse."

Ash rolled his eyes and released a dramatic sigh. Temperance grabbed his small hand and dragged her brother off to the field.

Arms wrapped around my thin waist and knowing who it was, I leaned back with a contented sigh.

"Remember," my husband said, his thick accent slurring his words, "Those are your children. Not mine."

I turned around and slapped his chest playfully.

"They are yours too, you know. Two to tango."

He flashed a smile and bent his head to kiss me. The moment his lips touched mine, I felt the same spark I did on our wedding day and our very first night together. It was pure bliss and I was completely happy. My mate, my pups, my family... I had everything.
