Chapter 3
I absolutely hate flying and was so glad it was over. The whole plane ride my mom either slept or sipped champagne and read magazines. She didn't once speak to my dad. Man! She must be really upset, I didn't really understand her, its like where is the compassion.
My dad and I talked a lot and I expressed to him how I felt about going back to school. He smiled reassuringly at me and told me that all that was in the past and he doesn't blame me if I were not to tell anyone about who I actually was if they were to not notice me. So that was that. I loved my dad so much and hated to seem him under pressure and hurting.g for his sister. But sure everything would be ok my ain't was strong. She would definitely be beating.g this.
We had arranged a car to pick us up and ring us to the ranch. I could tell when we hit the dirt road it wouldn't be far now. There were trees all around, we were at least 5 miles from town and the closest house was probably 2 miles away. My aunt owed a lot of land, at least 20 acres. And it was filled with stuff. In some areas were her horses, cattle, and pigs. She had chickens too. And dogs. Boy she had like 7 dogs.
The outside of the house was lined with huge oak trees, and perfectly landscapes with every plant and flower u could imagine I remember being younger and helping her garden in the spring and summer months.
The house itself was huge, two story. It was a grey brick house with a bright red door. And a white porch wrapped around the whole house.
I looked around, I was actually excited to be here and see her we hadn't seen her for a year and a half. Our schedules never met up properly. I grabbed some of my bags and headed up on the porch. The wind chimes she had out sang a little song as the slight breeze blew. I smiled seeing her through the window. She quickly opened the door.
"I was expecting my niece, who are you?" She said smiling.
"Aunt nessa!!" And I hugged her.
"U trying to knock me down or something? Good lord girl. I can't breathe." She said.
I unwrapped myself and smiled slightly embarrassed. I missed u I said.
"Well of course u did, I'm ur favorite aunt!' She said chuckling.
I laughed. "Ur my only aunt."
Suddenly my mom walked up, "hello nessa, my mom said smiling slightly. "How r u feeling?" She asked. My mom wasn't one for affection. But I always hugged her anyway.
"I feel great !" My aunt said. She cocked one eyebrow, "how r u feeling, u look like u need some food Melissa."
I just ate my mom said. Even though she only had crackers, I mean that was hardly a meal.
"Nessa!" My dad exclaimed. Hugging her and picking her up off the ground.
"Whoa there buddy, don't need to be showing ur strength off for me!" She said wiggling away.
My dad chuckled following my ain't inside. I saw my mom with a weird expression on her face.
The inside of my aunts house was awesome! She had a big screen tv, with a huge council and decliners. The ceilings in her house were huge. The walls all painted a cream color accented with brown decorations. And a little pop of green here and there. There were deer heads mounted along the walls with some fish, and others, and other animals, she and her ex husband had killed over all the years. My aunts husband ghastly cheated on her when I was 10 and they got a divorce. Never saw or heard from again.
