**karkats pov**

"Karkat, just pack your bags already. We are so very late, and that could be triggering to other students, your dorm mate, or your teachers." The taller troll, dressed in a bright red turtle neck ranted. Dragging a scruffy, worn out looking karkat; who never quite recovered, he stayed in a constant depression or heartache it could be called.

"I can fucking walk on my own, kankri. No one is going to give two shits if i even show up, i could just stay in my dorm and rot away." he pulled his arm out of his brothers grip, stumbling from kankris willingness to not resist like normal. His brother pressed the button on the car device. kankri had yet to figure how it worked. Did he only need to 'unlock' it once? Maybe twice? Kankri pressed it three times to be sure. Climbing into the car, the two brothers drove off towards Karkats college. He was studying psychology, because it seemed easy. He had no real reason to study psychology, his brother had simply forced him out of the house.

He looked out the window, frowning, it didnt matter what Kankri did or how hard he tried, he was positive on one thing.

He would never love again.

"Bro, was this really necessary. I could have driven out myself. Besides, dont i need a car anyways?" he sat on his bed, the other side of the dorm was empty, clearly his dorm mate wasnt here; or simply missed the memo.

"Im sure your roommate will have a perfectly functioning car. Get a ride with him. Now get up, You need to make the bed." daves brother shoved him off the bed, fanning a red blanket across the black sheets instead. A classic color combination that dave enjoyed. Picking up a bag of chips, he watched his brother set up his dorm.

"can i maybe have this time alone, youre in town a couple of days, we can bond and say goodbye tomorrow." he stated, trying to usher his brother out.

"Fine, but just remember about tomorrow got-" Dave shut the door, falling onto the bed and putting his headphones on. This was going to be a long weekend, he could tell.

The school came into view it used to be a hotel but was refurnished into a school. There were long towers and a blocky main school. Because of its size, only a few hundred were let in.

Karkai stopped the car, turning off the engine. "Brother, do you want me to help you find your way, i used to go here remember. I can help you if you need." Karkat unbuckled his seat belt and hopped/fell out of the car.

"No, i can find my own fucking way. Ill see you tomorrow at breakfast or some shit. Bye kankri, thanks for the uh... Ride." he took his suit cases from the trunk, and walked up to the school, struggling with the heavy door. "fucking door." he muttered. Looking at the number on his paper. Unaware of who his roommate was.

***Daves Pov***

There was a heavy knock on your door. Maybe if you ignored it, it would go away. The knock sounded again, this time was faster and heavier.

"Can you just wait a moment, Im coming to the door. Holy fuck." you answered the door, dropping your phone on the ground it bounced off your foot and landed on the ground. Your jaw opened wide, and you stood frozen.
"Are you going to let me in or not. Assfuck." karkat growled. Unpleased to see you. Stepping aside you stared at him in disbelief. This could be the chance you were looking for. The moment you needed to make things right. You could try again and again if you needed to. Now that you figured out time.
