The dark, glassy orbs pierced the young girl's face, the color draining from her skin, as tears stained her cheeks. Eyes fluttered open and shut, several times, before she managed to allowed the words to escape her trembling lips.
"Thea, honey," The words seemed to strangle the life out of Moira Queen, as she reached for the face of her daughter. Her remaining child. "Oliver. Your father. They're /gone/."
"No," The young girl replied by instinct, knowing that it wasn't possible. Ollie promised that he would return. He never lied to his Speedy. But with the grave look in her mother's eyes, it told her that they were not coming back. Oliver and Robert Queen had died, their bodies never to be found.
The other line was still on the call, as Thea picked up the wireless phone, compelled to resume the call. "And I have more unfortunate news, Mrs. Queen," The man said, the moment she continued the call. "There was another person on the boat. A blonde. Oliver Queen's girlfriend?"
Girlfriend. Of course. He would've taken a girl along but not her, but just when she was fuming with anger, she had realized something. Laurel Lance, his girlfriend, had remained in Starling. If the girl wasn't Laurel, they who was it?
And then it struck her. Oliver had gotten awfully close to Laurel's younger sister, Sara, considering they were exchanging messages non-stop. When she finally pieced it together, it wasn't just Ollie and her father who died. The youngest Lance, was now dead.
And just like that, she had completely lost it.
