I tried my best to tune Jax out, but it didn't work as well as I planned. I would start to listen to the teacher and then Jax would make some smart ass remark and I would miss what she was trying to say. When I finally thought he was done talking, he turned towards me with a serious face.
"So tell me, who was that text really meant for?" Jax questioned.
"If I tell you, you have to swear not to tell him or anyone else for that matter. You can't give me a half ass response either and not mean it because I'll kick your ass," I warned.
"Okay okay, I promise I won't tell anyone. And if it so happens that I do, you can kick my ass," he said with his hands up in surrender.
I couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. "Don't laugh or judge, but the text was meant for... Micheal," the last part coming out in a whisper.
I sat still, waiting to hear his response. Except, he didn't respond at all. He simply sat there like he didn't hear a word I said. I kept giving him sideway glances, trying to figure out what he was thinking. The bell rang reminding me that we were still in class. I stood up and gathered my things. When I looked up, Jax was gone. It pissed me off to be honest. I don't know what's up with him. I practically told him that I loved Micheal, and now he's ignoring me. Ugh, guys so don't make sense.
I went through my morning classes in a daze. It wasn't till Micheal came over to my seat that I realised it was lunch time. As if on cue, my stomach started to rumble. Micheal looked down at me a let out a small laugh.
"Hungry are we?" he mused.
"Why yes, I could eat a horse," I replied with my British accent.
"Well madam, it just so happens that they're serving pizza for lunch today," he smiled.
Bouncing up and down in excitement, I grabbed Micheal's hand and dragged him over to the lunch line. Glancing over all the food in front of me, I licked my lips in anticipation. In case you haven't caught on, I love food. Hell, my skinny ass can eat just as much as the football players. Grabbing two slices of Pepperoni pizza, a rice crispy, and some Dr. Pepper; I made my way over to the cashier to pay.
Heading over to our usual table, filled with your average delinquents, I noticed that Jax wasn't there. Placing my tray down, I glanced around the packed lunch room.
"Hey guys, have you seen Jax?" I asked to the group sitting down around me.
"He told me that he would rather be somewhere else," Lindsey, a small red headed girl murmured.
"Huh, well that's weird. Something must be up with him," I said puzzled.
"More like he has his head up his ass," Micheal smirked, making the rest of the table laugh besides me.
I had a feeling something was bothering him. The only thing I could think of was this morning. Did it bother him that I said I loved Micheal? I didn't think it was that big of a deal. He just needs to get his panites out of a twist and get over it. I mean, why should he care who I like, or love for that matter. It's not like he wants me in a way more than just a fuck buddy. He made that perfectly clear last year.
Just thinking about last year almost puts me in a mix of rage and tears. You see, I have had a crush on Jax since I was seven. The crush started to develop into something great as the years went on. It just so happens that last year I thought that I was madly in love with him. When I thought he had developed feelings for me, I told him how I felt. Putting everything on the line, including our friendship, to finally lift the weight off my shoulders. When those three little words left my mouth, my eyes were filled with hope, only to hear the most heart shattering thing in my life.
