The next day at around 8:00 am we met up in my backyard.

"Why so early its freezing!" Alexa complained.

"I want to get rid of his stuff as soon as possible." I replied while putting on my jacket.

"I got the shovel!" Connor screamed holding the shovel over his head as he ran towards us.

"Why do we need a shovel?" Gissel asked.

"To dig the ashes." Connor replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Of course that seemed so obvious." Gissel said sarcasm dripping off her words.

"Wait did you guys burn him alive!?" Alexa screamed.

"No!" Connor and I yelled at the same time.

"Then whose ashes are we burning? Can we vote? I vote for Mrs. Akens she gave me a C on the test I worked so hard on!!"

"I got an A" Connor replied with a wink.

Alexa rolled her eyes and said, "So where are the ashes?"

"I haven't burned his stuff it's right here!" I said ad I pointed to a shoe box which was filled with stuff he had given me.

I examined the fire place then threw all the things in one at a time.

A ring, a poem -which I later found out from Connor that it was from a book called ' The Perks Of Being A Wallflower ', his sweater which still smelled like him unfortunately.

"That's a lot of stuff just throw it all in instead of one at a time!" Gissel complained.

Alexa nodded her head and grabbed the shoebox from me and threw it in the fire which burned a bright mix of orange, yellow, and red.

"That's more like it." Connor said.

We waited a while watching the fire burn everything slowly.

"We should burn his house down next." Gissel commented as she faced the fire as if enchanted by it's heat. (A/N You're Welcome olivaishere )

We all stared at her for a bit then we all nodded our head in agreement.

After the fire was out and we made S'mores we went out to my backyard with the ashes in hand or more like jar.

"Okay Connor start digging!" I ordered him.

He saluted me like a soldier would his leader then dug the shovel into the moist soil.

After about five minutes with all of us digging we hadn't gotten very far.

"This is going to take hours!" Gissel complained.

"Hey, Melanie, can I go get hot drinks from inside?" Alexa asked I nodded and she shivered while walking towards my house.

"Meanwhile I'll keep digging!" I said. I honestly just wanted this all to be over!

I dug my shovel into the sand but something hard was blocking me from going all the way in. (A/N Shut it my dirty minded companions)

I got on my knees and I started digging where I had felt the object with the shovel. "Hey guys, I think I found something!" I told shivering Conner and Gissel.

"What did you find?" Connor asked walking towards my his hands in his sweater pockets.

"I don't know I'm digging to find what it is!" I said excitingly as I felt my cold slightly frost bitten fingers scratch against the chilly soft soil.

"I think it's.......," I stopped talking and grabbed the object then pulled it out of the ground.

"A book?" I questioned as I stared at it.

It was made of brown leather and if I had to guess I would say it had about 100 pages or so. It also had in big black lettering, Uncredited Villains from the 'Dark Ages' 2017

"You found a book! That's funny." Connor teased.

"Connor shut up!" I shouted trying to concentrate on the fact that it was from 2017 and the year was currently 2015.

"What happened?" Alexa asked with hot chocolate mugs on a tray she was carrying.

"We found a book." I stated the coldness of my fingers finally seeping into me.

Hai, Author here! So this is a slight cliffhanger..... So yah.

Sorry that it's short but I want to make this a short book so I have a small plot line and I want to break it into as much chapters as I can. Blah blah blah.
