As I woke up this morning my head started to pound over and over again. Could this be a dream. I thought to myself as the sun glared through my window. As I looked around I found girls lying about my bedroom. Meg was sprung out next to me. As I got up I slowly creeped my way through the wave of girls on my bedroom floor. With my head still pounding.
What on earth happened last night. Did I really get that drunk and forget what I did? When I finally made my escape I headed towards the noise in the kitchen.
My dad was up cooking a fiest. Maybe he had some answers, 'Morning dad.' I rubbed my temples as I sat at the breakfast counter.
'Morning baby girl, how did you go last night?' he asked.
Trying to remember but my brain still wasn't functioning yet. 'Honestly, I can't remember dad can I get back to you on that?'
He laughed, 'A bit to much to drink I see.'
I was shocked that he even knew that I drank. 'Yeah sorry dad, I think Meg spiked the punch.'
Mum walked in, 'No she didn't sweety your dad and I left some booze out for you. Don't you remember?' Shocked that my parents would even do that I actually remembered that the drink table had a few alcoholic beverages on it.
Suddenly I thought, 'No one drove home did they?'
'No sweety, about eleven we shut the party down. Handed some water and sent girls to your room and the boys to Georgia's old room.' Dad added, 'So since its almost lunch time and their parents will be worried would you mind waking up the bunch so they can tell their parents they are okay?'
'What you cooking?' I asked.
'A brunch buffet for anyone not in a hurry. Now hurry along before the food gets cold. Grab your sister too please,' he added.
As I turned to walk away I asked one last thing, 'Where's Kale?'
'Since he didn't drink he drove a few people home last night so we weren't an over booked hotel. I'm pretty sure he went home to sleep though,' mum said with a smile.
I went to wake Jenny up first but she was already awake and in the shower. So I made my way to the boys room because I figured they were easier to wake. Well I was wrong they all moaned and groaned as soon as I turned on the light. So I took another tactic, 'Boys there is a big brunch about to start if you're hungry?'
They all sprung up like animals and stampeded for the kitchen. I moved on to the girls. Yep, harder to wake.I turned on the light, mentioned the food, even said their parents were here to pick them up. Nothing.
So I went to Meg for help. Sat up and screamed out, 'Girls get up before I start kicking you all in your sleep!' I laughed as everyones head started popping up. Meg and I left the room as they all slowly made it up. I let them know thay the boys were going to eat all the food and they got up a little quicker.
Once upstairs it was like a pack of animals fighting over a carcus. I let them go wild because I didnt care for food. I heard a knock on the door and went to answer it.
Kale stood there all showered and dressed and I smiled, 'Can I help you sir?'
'Good morning Jamie,' he said as he entered. He kissed me on the cheek.
Suddenly a memory flooded to my head. I was at the pond with Kale right after graduation.
********
We were naked in the trees near the pond and we had just done the deed. I remembered how I felt and chill went up and down my spine. Butterflies flew around in my stomache from his touch.
I had that feeling that I just wanted to pull him in close and kiss him till tomorrow comes.
******
I zoned back into the now shuting the door. We went to salvage some breakfast. Once everyone was fed some people sat around the back chatting for a bit and others left for home.
I sat next to Meg, 'So great party huh?'
'Gosh I love your parents. I had brought my own bottle of vodka and didn't even have to drink it. Although I think someone brought drugs.'
'How do you mean?' I asked.
'Well most of my night is blurry, and I know I didn't drink that much. Pretty sure I took it willingly with you but i can't remember who gave it to us.'
Shocked I whispered, 'I feel the same but I don't remember taking anything though?'
'Yeah, I'm pretty sure we did it willingly. I can remember that much. But I think you were more intoxicated than me by then. You were slurring hard core.'
'Did I tell you anything last night?' I asked.
'If you did I wont be able to remember till tomorrow. Unless you want to retell me now?'
I thought for a moment and decided not to say anything on the approach of Kale walking up.
'Maybe tomorrow,' I said.
'Tomorrow for what?' Kale asked.
'Just a little talking, did you have a good night?' I asked.
'Yeah wasn't feeling the drinking but you seemed to have a good night,' he winked at me.
'How so?' I asked.
'Well you couldn't keep your hands off me the entire night.'
Meg said jokingly, 'Of course you'd think that but you sure it wasn't vise versa?'
'I was sober and she was all over me Meg. But I'm not saying I didn't like it.'
I took his hand and Meg looked at us in awe, 'You guys are together now?'
'Well sort of, not official yet,' I said.
'When is it official?' She asked.
'When we get the chance to talk,' Kale said.
She laughed and walked off to speak to everyone else that was still hanging about.
Once it was just Kale and I, we found somewhere more private and talked.
