**************************************

Little by little, Cleofe is learning the piece we are practicing. It took a couple of months for her to master the song she wanted to learn. She hugged me hard by the time she played the song flawlessly, making no mistakes at all.

"Thank you Sammie, I knew we could do this. I'm sure Val will love this", Cleofe whispered these words almost crying.

"I will never forget this. I love you, Sammie."

Forbidden tears rolled upon my cheeks. I suddenly feel something weird that seems to pierce my heart. I don't know if it was just my imagination but I've felt sadness in Cleofe's voice.

The East Intern High's 68th foundation day had finally arrived. Everyone is busy, including the Music Club. We were busy preparing for the "surprise number" later where Cleofe insisted to be included in the programme. I was again bugged three days ago to sing the piece as she played.

Gah, as if I had a choice.

"I'm freakin' nervous," said Cleofe as we are getting ready at the back stage.

I was actually at ease this time, knowing it's my forte. But for Cleofe, I think she's going to faint soon, for she looked pale. And when I say pale, the color in her face was almost drained out.

Wait.

For this past months, Cleofe always looked pale. The rosy cheeks that I really loved on her face was suddenly gone. Is she hiding something?

Nah. She wouldn't keep things from me.

I tried to shake the bad thoughts away.

Maybe she was just really nervous.

"Val's watching. It's for him right? You can do it." I smiled encouragingly at her, but speaking of Val's name made me sick.

"And now, ladies and gentlemen, let's give a hand to our very own Ms. Samantha Alonzo, the Music Club President and Ms. Cleofe Rose Clemente, from the Theater and Drama Department!"

Cleofe answered me with a nod.

"Let's go."
