Chapter 18 Why is this boy so handsome?

     Jiyeon could usually fall asleep when the traffic gets bad. But not today. She was anxious because her phone just died. She couldn't call her mom nor text Jungkook; and she was restless. She tried to listen to her 'calming playlist' but she forgot that her phone was already dead. She forced herself to calm down - but it was only for a little while.

     Finally, when she was about to start pulling her hair out, they arrived at last. She hit the foyer running, went straight up to her room so that she can charge her phone. She quickly showered and changed into jeans and sneakers and grabbed her bag.

     "Sebastian, did you find him?" she asked. "Yes Miss Jiyeon..." the butler replied. "Alright, I'll be going out to visit him. Please tell mom where I am" she said. "I'm afraid I have to tag along Miss Jiyeon..." Sebastian said calmly. 'What?' she thought. Jiyeon was surprised about why Sebastian wanted to tag along but she didn't have time to argue so she just nodded and then they were off.

     The traffic going to Jungkook's hospital was still pretty bad, but was now bearable. In her hurry, she left her phone so she had nothing to pass the time with. Instead, she leaned back and closed her eyes. She recalled Jungkook's arm around her and the way she leaned onto his head as well. She wished that she hugged him back - 'but it's a little bit late now, isn't it?' she mocked herself.

     Jiyeon survived the car ride from her house to the hospital. She looked at the time and sighed because she only had one hour left until visiting hours were over. She arrived at Jungkook's floor but her initial confidence and worry were now forgotten - instead, she was nervous about how he'd take her visit.

     Before she pushed the door open, Sebastian said; "Please take your time Miss Jiyeon, I will take care of the visiting hours rule..." then he smiled. Jiyeon was happy that Sebastian thought of everything so she said, "Thanks Sebastian! I appreciate it!"

     This time, when she opened Jungkook's door, she was excited to see him and talk to him and ask him about the rest of his day. She smiled at him but then she noticed that he was asleep. She went over to his right side and placed her bag down. She looked at his sleeping face and smiled because he looked cute when sleeping. She spied some apples on the table and she thought, 'Oh no! I forgot to bring food!' she scolded herself because of her thoughtlessness.

     Jiyeon sat down by his bed and just looked at him sleep. She leaned on her right arm and just stared at his face. She smiled happily at him and felt that her heart was doing some funny things again. She held his hand, and gave it a squeeze; to let him know she was here.

     After some time, she felt someone was caressing her hand so she woke up. She opened her eyes and saw that Jungkook was finally awake.

'Uggh - Why is this boy so handsome?' she thought. Since she didn't know what to say, she just said, "Hey" and then smiled. At first, she was embarrassed that Jungkook caught her holding his hand. She was even more embarrassed about her rough fingers - not that she regrets playing the guitar - it's just that, when Jungkook held her hand like that - she wished that she'd made an effort to look good? 'Uggh' she shivered. But she never expected Jungkook to make deep comments about her fingers making music! 'Wow' she almost died from happiness and forced herself to calm down.

     Jiyeon didn't know why she was awkward around Jungkook again and she hoped that they'd go back to their old friendliness when she heard his stomach grumbling. They laughed together and she felt relieved that it dispelled the awkwardness.

     Since she didn't bring anything, she ended up having Sebastian order some pizza. They started eating and he asked her, "Tell me, why did you say your day was shocking? And don't give me that it's-a-long-story-I-will-tell-you-someday bull, I'm not putting up with that today..."

Jiyeon laughed so hard because Jungkook got her. "Fine!" she replied. Then they talked late into the night.
