I fell to my knees from the pain as the girl ran to me and kept me from completely falling on my face, which was still bleeding.
"Your animal spirit is hurt," She said. "You won't be able to use your powers for awhile." She said.
"But my mom!" I said standing back up. She kept her hands on me to make sure I wouldn't fall again.
"I know." She said. "I know you want to save your mom. But it may not seem like it, you are hurt. I know how bad you want to save your mom but you have to rest now." She led me down the road as the van raored away deeper into the city.
"I can't!" I protested.
"You have to!" The girl yelled. She forced me to get on what must've been her motorcycle. "Look you have to rest first. When you're better we'll help you find her, promise." She said and threw the bike into motion.
"Who's we?" I asked.
"You'll find out later, first let's see where this van is going so we know where to show up." She said. I wrapped my arms around her small tight waist as the bike zipped passed cars and lights. Her hair whipped around wildly, reminding me of Silencio's bull whip.
She stopped the bike far back before the van pulled up onto an old dirt road and stopped right next to the side of the mountain. We crept silently close and watched as an opening appeared in the side of the mountain and the van peeled inside.
"Ok, let's go!" I said and tried to run in after it but she grabbed my hood and pulled me back.
"You're still hurt." She said.
"I feel better." I lied and tried to illuminate my powers again. "Ahhh!"
"See, now that we know where they are going, we'll come back later and rescue everyone. First we need the rest of the gang before we run in there with out a plan and you need to rest." She gave me a stern look, still holding onto my hood, which was tightly wadded into her fist.
"We don't even know where they really are!" I debated. "They just disappeared in the side of a mountain!"
"I've got that covered." She insisted. She let go of my hood and pulled out her phone. She tapped on it a few times and the opening to the side of the mountain opened again. "There, I just reduplicated the frequency of the opening mechanism, so now we have access to the entrance of where ever they went. And that location of which they went I believe is the old Deigh Institute." She explained as she started to walk back to her bike.
"The old Deigh Institute?" I asked running after her. I remember my mom talking about that over the phone a couple of times before I found out about my powers. It couldn't have been a coinsidence that now she had been kidnapped and taken there and just after I found out about my new powers.
"Yeah, that's what's I said." She said throwing her leg over the bike to get on. "Come on I still gotta introduce you to the gang." I got on behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist again. We zoomed off into the night.
"We're here." She said as we pulled up to an old school. It took quite a while to get here from the highway but we were still in Prime Shore so it couldn't have been too far, right?
"Wait, how do I even know it's safe?" I stopped and asked. "You just so happened to be there to save me after I got shot trying to rescue my mom." I said again trying to use my powers again. I winced at the pain again.
"It's going to take longer to recover if you keep trying to use your powers." Was all she had to reply.
"Who are you?" I asked ignoring her outward hand that she offered so I wouldn't fall over.
