MINE - a hayes grier fanfic

Kiara's POV.
FLASHBACK

"Wait up Hayes!" I shouted as I ran after the brown haired boy.

Hayes turned around and stuck out his tongue at me and picked up his speed.

"Seriously it's not funny anymore!" I cried and sat down on the muddy lawn.

Our neighbour's youngest son stole my diary and refused to give it back to me. He is always picking on me by stealing or hiding my things.

"I'm sorry Kiara, here, you can have it back!" I hear Hayes's voice and see my diary flying through the air, landing on the dirty lawn.

"You're so mean, I hate you!" I screamed and picked up my diary, hugging it to my chest.

I walked across the lawn to my house and slammed the door behind me. I sat down on the floor and opened my diary. I tried to clean the mud off the white papers, but it just smudged and got worse.

"I hate Hayes Grier." I whispered and felt a few tears roll down my cheeks.

I heard a knock on our front door, so I stood up and walked to the door. I tried to see through the peepwhole but I was too short.

"It's me, Hayes!" Hayes shouted from behind the door.

I turned the handle and the boy immediately hugged me.

"I'm so so so so so so sorry Kiara! Please don't hate me!" Hayes said and hugged me tighter.

I laughed and hugged him back.

"I'd never hate you!"

...

Four years later

"Heads up!" Someone shouted and I felt something hit the back of my head.

"Fuck!" I hissed and turned around to see who and what hit me.

"I'm so sorry Karen!" My neighbour, Hayes, shouted as he ran towards me.

I just finished my cheerleading practice, and I was walking across the football field with my best friend, Daisy, to the locker rooms.

I picked up his football, that apparently hit me, and tossed it to him.

"It's okay, and my name is Kiara." I said and smiled at him.

"Right, sorry!" He said and dragged his hand across his hair. "Did it hur.." He started but was cut off by Daniel, one of his many, many friends.

"Come on Grier!" The dark haired boy yelled and waved at him.

"Sorry, gotta go! See you around Karen!" He said and ran back to his friends.

"It's Kiara." I whispered and rolled my eyes.

Me and Hayes used to be best friends before junior high. It's very simple actually, he got very popular, and I didn't - so we stopped talking. Now, apparently, he doesn't even remember my name. I think part of the reason why got so famous is because his older brother, Nash, is a very popular viner and youtuber. I heard somewhere that he acted in a movie too. Nash used to babysit me from time to time, and he is actually a very nice boy.

"Oh my god! Hayes talked to you!" Daisy gasped and her dark green eyes were nearly popping out of her head.

"Apparently I'm Karen to him." I chuckled and shook my head.

Daisy was kind of crushing on Hayes, and his brother, and a group of guys called Magcon. I don't know if it's a group or a band or a fucking new religion, I just know she talks about it - a lot.

"Imagine if you and Hayes still were best friends, then you could introduce me to him and we would fall deeply in love, Then he would take me with him to L.A. to meet the other boys and.." Daisy started.

"Okay, relax! They're just a bunch of guys, why are you so into them anyways?"

"Why? WHY? Have you seen them, they're like the most good looking boys on this planet. And their smiles, and their laughs, and their vines, an.." She screamed and clapped her hands together.

"Yeah, okay." I cut her off again, and  laughed. It was kind of cute how much she liked them.

We reached the locker room building and walked inside. I untied my blonde hair from a ponytail, and placed the hair tie on around my wrist.

I pulled my cheerleading costume over my head, and tossed in my gym bag. Then I put on a pair of black skinny jeans, and a white mock neck top. I grabbed a few bracelets and attached them around my wrist.

"Are you ready?" Daisy asked and I nodded in response.

I gathered my things and we walked out of the building.

Our school, Davidson Day, is a pretty big school. It is an every day struggle to get to class on time, because there is hundreds of students blocking the hallways. Yet, I don't have much friends.

We have our own little group who includes me, Daisy, Hailey, Aiden, Noah and Logan. Me and Daisy are cheerleaders, Hailey is in art class, Aiden and Logan play lacrosse, and Noah ditches almost everyday, so I actually don't know what he's doing. Aiden is gay and he gets picked on almost every day. He's my closest friend, after Daisy.

"Wait up!" Someone yells from behind us and we see Noah and Logan running towards us.

"Wow, surprised to see you here." I laughed and put my arms around Noah.

He hugged me tightly and chuckled in my ear.

"Yeah, long time no see." He laughed and hugged Daisy.

Daisy and Logan were always flirting with eachother and "accidentally making out" at parties and stuff. Even now when Daisy was hugging her best friend, you could see jealousy in Logans eyes.

We talked for a bit in the middle of the hallway, before it was time to go to class.

"Well, see you at lunch!" Daisy said and we walked our separate ways.

...

"Late again, Hayes." Mr. Coleman said, shaking his head disapprovingly.

"I'm glad you caught that." Hayes smirked and walked to his usual spot in the back of the class.

Everyone chuckled and Mr. Coleman looked annoyed. I think I have the same look on my face as he does. Hayes is kind of arrogant and full of himself and I find that disgusting. Don't get me wrong, he can be nice but most of the time he's just annoying. Every girl is always hanging on him, hugging him, playing with his hair, laughing that obnoxious little girl laugh and it's annoying as hell.

My phone beeped and I opened my lockscreen to check out the message.

"Party at Daniel's 2night! Everyone who brings drinks gets in." It read.

I shook my head and locked my screen. I then got another message, and it was from Daisy.

"We're going to the party! I'mma steal drinks from my parents lol" The text read.

"I don't know, I mean it's at Daniel's, everyone's gonna be there, and we're not the most popular people in this school." I answered.

After a few more messages Daisy convinced me to go.

One party won't hurt, right?
