MIA's POV
"Mia! Mia! MIA PARKS GET UP YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE!
"Huh? Oh shit I'm gonna be late"
"Ooooo Mia said a bad word"
I look over to find Finley sitting in my chair spinning in circles with toast in one hand a juice box in the other and crumbs all over his face.
"Fin what are you doing here, get out!"
Fun starts to get up leaving a trail of crumbs behind him he turns around right before he leaves the room to stick his tongue out at me. I reply in the same fashion. I roll over on to my back and sit up. Look around my room. Wait... my room in my house......
"MOOOOOM" I yell.
Immediately I hop out of bed and march downstairs to find my mom cooking my dad sitting at the table Finley running around the kitchen playing with Gandalf and Dumbledore.
"Um well excuse me? I wasn't aware we were coming to houses without calling first" I say as I grab a piece of bacon off the napkin. Mom slaps my hand with the spatula.
"Ouch that's shady Mi" I look over and see my best friend Alex completely ready for work. A tight black pencil sticks to her body almost perfectly. Her blazer fitting nicely against her arms and flowing down to her waist. The sound of her clicking heels follows her and she walks gracefully around the kitchen.
"We did call" mom says "you just didn't answer"
"So you just show up?" I ask not fully grasping their logic. I get no response.
"Al tell them" I whine.
"Mia I have no problem with your parents visiting, this is all on you hun bun. Now I gotta go if we win this case I can take off work for months"
"Good luck." I yell as she walks out the door.
"THANKS" she replies.
"Mia you should learn to lighten up a bit" my dad say looking up from his book. I look at him with no amusement. He gets up. "What you don't want to see your old man anymore?" He says as he engulfs me in a huge bear hug.
" Daddy you know that's not it" I laugh. "You are always welcome here, but the other two"
Mom giggles "You've always been a Daddy's girl Mia, I don't know what you two would to without each other"
I laugh and go give mom a kiss on the cheek. "Love you mom"
"8 3 0" fin giggles
"Aye little what are you on about" I ask
" that's what the numbers on that thing say" he points to the digital clock sitting above the dog bowls"
"8:30? SHIT." I cus
"Miaaaa" mom groans
"I gotta go I'm gonna be late."
I run upstairs brush my teeth put my hair up into a messy bun, put on my clothes and run out the door.
I get into my car
