I loved her so much. I still do. Sorry, I'm not making much sense. It starts a little further back. I was only 2000 when they sent me to my general at the start of the war. Still young, but old enough to know love.
I never had made a friend until they sent me there. I was all depressed and lonely, and no one in the 2000 to 3000 years old group wanted to be friends with me. Except for her. Emerald. Her smile, envied to have, her friendship, desired by many. And I, the least worthy, received it.
One day Emerald, at the time unfamiliar to me came up to me. "Hi there! Emerald's my name." She summoned her weapon, an arm cannon, and started pretending to shoot it all over the place. "Going, PEW PEW-PEW is my game!"
"Ummm hello..." I began to shake. She was so beautiful. "My name is Lapis, Lapis Lazuli," I swallowed my insecurities and began to try and be more confident. "I've got wings, just look and see!" I summoned my water wings. I tried to do the rhyming thing but it didn't sound as cool.
"How about I just call you my water angel?" She replied with a wink. Is she FLIRTING with me? I thought. I didn't know what to reply with. Then something popped into my head. I still don't know if it was the best thing to say.
"As long as I can call you my Lil' Emmi!" She chuckled a bit but blushed, which meant I had done good enough. And that good enough was the start of something special.
