Roxas lays in his bed and watches the time on the clock tick by. It is around 1:45 and he has a long day of school ahead of him with only enemy's and fear to greet him. He lets out a small sigh and runs his pale fingers through his golden hair. 1:47. The young teen blinks as he stares at the white ceiling. A tear rolls down Roxas's rosy cheek as his mind begins to kick into full gear. The tear falls over a scratch on the boys cheek, which makes him cringe in pain.
"Sht," Roxas mutters under his breath. He doesn't dare touch the scratch, knowing it will just hurt more. Instead of blowing it off, the memory I'm of how he got the cut came flooding back to him. He turns in his bed away from the window next to his bed. Sobs wreck through his body as Roxas shakes violently. Tears and sweat drench his face. Although silent, the boy screams in his mind. He couldn't stand nights like this, when the brick wall hits, which is way too often.
At some point, the blonde has passed out. His face is crusted with salty tears. Blankets surround his frail body as he shivers. He clutches tightly to the pillow his lays on. The only thing that reaches for his salvation is the claws of the alarm going off on his phone. 5:35. Roxas opens a single sapphire eye to shut off the alarm and groan. Against his body's request, he stands up and walks to to the bathroom across his room. Roxas's steps are uneven and shaky due to the small amount of sleep he has received. He dares to look at himself in the mirror. Dark circles dominate his eyes, and makes the already black eye he has even darker. He wasn't a pretty sight. Roxas had makeup though for just for occasions like this.
After some time in the bathroom, the boy heads to his room to find cloths. Loose jeans and a t-shirt fit the Monday. Despite everything else wrong with him, Roxas refuses to have his hair down. He spends the rest of his morning with hair gel to spike up his hair. Not only does he like this style, it is a distraction from the rest of his features. 6:30 and he's off.
A walk always helps Roxas start the day off right. The morning air is crisp and threatening the first snow fall. But Roxas can't complain he loves the snow. He can't help but smile and enjoy the air on his bare and bony arms. Small bumps line his body, but he blows it off and walks slower. School is more of a distant goal. He could care less anymore. To him, school is more of a prison than anything else. The hardest part is finding an excuse of why he is late, but again Roxas doesn't care. Neither does anyone else. So on he walks, dragging his combat boots along with him.
7:20 is the time Roxas arrives at school. The bell has already rung and he is given a detention slip and sent to his first hour class, which happens to be honors Biology. His teacher, Mrs. Kayn isn't phased when he walks in. He just sits down in the back of the class and grabs out a notebook and a red pen for notes. And it begins. Kayn drones on for an hour about osmosis. Roxas falls in and out of sleep. Just as he's about to pass out, a bell rings throughout the school. A frown forms as the teens dreads his next class, math. Thankfully the class passes by much quicker than usual.
For only being in his second year in high school, Roxas is a pretty smart kid, if he tries. That's why he takes so many honours classes. It was his mom's idea. So he suffers the many papers for homework instead of enjoying being a teen. It's not like his life is normal anyway, at least not with his boyfriend Marluxia. The pink haired boy has an interesting way of saying he loves someone. Roxas is witness to this. Over lunch is when everything takes a turn from okay to terrible.
Roxas joins up with his "beloved" boyfriend Marluxia at the courtyard for lunch. Neither of them had lunch. Roxas claims to never be hungry while Marluxia eats his lunch in the previous class. They find a quiet and abandon place to eat lunch. There are plenty on the school campus. The campus is a bit big for having a smaller student population. Marluxia greets Roxas with a kiss when they are alone.
"How's my babe doing?" The pink haired junior winks at Roxas as he towers over him.
Roxas, a bit frightened, answers. "I'm a little tired, but I'm good." He chuckles to try to hide the nervous quiver in his voice.
"That's not good. I'm sure if you quit drawing so much, you'd be more awake." The smirk on Marluxia's face turns to a frown.
Roxas does the unthinkable and lies. "Yea, I was up late drawing in my art book. " He moves his hands into his jeans pocket and looks up into the hazel eyes above him. They show unamusment.
"That's probably why you are depressed. Why did you lie to me?" Anger builds inside the older teen as his hands ball into fists.
At that moment, snow begins fall heavily. They coat the ground along with Roxas. Since Marluxia has shelter, he is unaffected by the change of weather. However, the other one begins to shiver from several factors, one of those being the change in attitude of his partner.
"You know, I thought I could trust you. How many times will you lie to me? I know your not fine." Marluxia tries to mask the anger in his voice by using compassion and looking away: this doesn't however unravel his fists.
Roxas mumbles out words that can barely be heard through the whistling wind. "Last time I said that, you yelled at me." He also averts his eyes yet again to face the ground. Snow now hits to his ankles. And that's when it came. A sudden rush of pain moves to his stomake, making him cough up blood. The white snow becomes Crimson and suddenly Roxas doesn't like snow anymore.
"Don't lie to me again," the taller one hisses and walks out, leaving Roxas laying on the ground. But the blonde doesn't have the strength to fight back. His weak body can barely take him standing back up. And that's when Roxas decides to go home and fake sick, rather than face through the day.
Thankfully the school nurse believed his cough. Within 20 minutes, Roxas's mom has gotten Roxas home and in bed, where he will lay and watch the snow fall. His vision becomes blurry and he is soon in tears once again. But the events of the day have proven too great for crying. Roxas is left numb and as cold as the snow that still thinkly falls.
