Prologue - The True Mystery of Earth

Perhaps a hundred years has passed since the world changed. An entirely new set of rules was imposed on everyone at that time. Nothing was the same, nor would it ever be the same again.

Maybe it was 3000 when it happened. Perhaps the year now is 3100. I've lost track of time, and so has everyone else.

The new king is the one who caused this mess. It's not exactly a mess, since nothing big has happened in the past hundred years. But this king gave everyone power an special abilities beyond what we were originally capable of. He himself had been part of a special incident which allowed him to cause The Change in the first place.

Eating food and drinking water has become something unnecessary and extra in a person's daily life. Everyone still has to breathe though, of course. This is due to all of our powers now.

There is no such thing as money now, either. Nor is there such thing as 'age'. In their places is a completely new death 'system'.

Special power... Some people have a number of these abilities, while others only have one. Each person has a unique ability, or a unique set of them. People will a single power will normally have a much more powerful ability than others with a set.

Some people will have an item... Binded to their soul, I suppose. When such a thing happens, the item is normally a special weapon of sort which they are able to call back at will, as in, if they lose it they can resummon it. Such items are industructable. I suspect there's someone with an ability to be able to destroy such items, but I can't really be sure.

The king's abilities are entirely unique to him. He has mastery over most, if not all, aspects of time. Some call him the Butterfly king, though they don't know where this nickname originated from.

I was the one who came up with this name even though most don't even know I exist.

I call him the Butterfly king since he enjoys watching the Butterfly effect play out by bending timelines to his will. I may be the only one other than him who knows the existence of multiple realities isn't a lie.

Perhaps 'bending to his will' aren't exactly the right words, but it's hard to explain the flow of time. For that matter, it's unexplainable how Earth was even created in the first place.

I have so much knowledge about Verium and the king... Of course, I have a good reason for this knowledge.

The king of Verium is none other than my brother.

(A/N: fun fact: ive made up the characters which will be in the book a long time ago but never thought of making it into a book until recently

Anyway, hope you enjoy the book! The king's sister shouldn't appear again until...

...sometime later. Well, see you in the next chapter!)
