Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.
Pope Paul VI"Jessie has... " the doctor said looking at my Auntie.
"What? What is it? " she yelled in frustration.
"Jessie has.... leukemia."
" W...what?" She whispered with tears running down her cheeks. I was pretending to be asleep but for some reason I wasn't surprised or scared I laid there hoping that my last day would be soon. I wanted to be with my mom and take one problem off my aunt's shoulders. That night all I heard was my aunt and cousin's sobs.~~~~~~~~~~
"Jessie!!! " Casie, my cousin who I loved like a sister, yelled as I pushed her in a wheel chair down the hospital halls. I was running as fast as I could laughing my heart out. Its been three weeks since I was diagnosed with leukemia and every day that has passed by has been amazing! Thanks to my aunt and Casie. I had been excused from school so I wouldn't have to go tomorrow because today was the last day of summer break but that would mean Casie was going to enter to 11th grade she is 1 year younger than me so we went to the same school. I was enjoying this day to the maximum I could because tomorrow Casie would leave me. I kept running when out of the corner of the hall this guy came into the hall looking down at the papers in his hands I tried stopping but it was too late . Bammm!!! The wheel chair knocked him down and Casie fell with the chair to the side and I went flying forward and fell on top of him.
"Ow." I said lifting my head to see the most beautiful pair of eyes looking at me. Then I noticed the position I was in and felt the heat go up my cheeks. I was in between his legs and pressed onto his chest. I cleared my throat and quickly got up. Once I got up, I looked at Casie who was laughing. I looked at her and started laughing while apologizing.
"I am so sorry." He looked at me with curiousity then a huge smile spread on his face.
"No problem, what's your name? " he asked . I was about to answer him when I remembered I had a job interview. So I grabbed Casie by her hand and began to run as fast as I could. I couldn't be late. I needed the job to help Auntie. She doesn't know that I'm applying for jobs but she has to much on her shoulders. "Jessie..... slow .... down. " Casie said out of breath. I stopped right in front of the door.
"Casie go home and help Auntie with the shop. I'll be home later." She looked at me curiosly for a while.
"Where are you going? " I usually helped my aunt in her shop. She owned a laundry shop where we rarely got any customers. "Umm....I....I have a date. " Her expression quickly changed her eyes looked like they we're about to fall out.
"What Whenwereyougoingtotellme? Whoishe? "She said way to quick for me to understand.
"Casie I'll tell you everything when I get home .OK. I can't be late. " I kissed her cheek and ran out the door.
