sadie was never the type of person to set boundaries for herself. she would always do whatever she wanted, and to her, that was completely fine. unfortunately, there was one boundary in sadie's life that she swore to never cross.
the first time sadie daniels fell in love was in her tenth year. all it took was a bad boy named luke and a bottle of rum and she was his.
he was intoxicating to her. if he was a drug, she was addicted and couldn't go an hour without. the sad thing was, she knew something was different about him from the beginning. she couldn't place her finger on it, but it was there.
luke broke sadie's heart into many sad pieces and from then on she knew that love was not for her. it wasn't her playground. she knew how to screw people without getting emotionally attached, and she was fine with spending her life that way.
when sadie met jack, she knew he was different. it was a shame to her because she knew that there was so much potential behind those big brown eyes, but she was well aware that the moment they fucked she would be in love.
truth be told, the only person sadie truly loved at the time was herself, so how hard would it be to fall in love someone who was so similar? not very hard for sadie, that she was sure of.
it was half past twelve when the lunch bell rang and sadie grudgingly walked to the bleachers to have a smoke during lunch. the day was full of syllabi and droning teachers that repeatedly said that "slacking isn't an option," and "homework is an every night assignment!" she needed a break.
when she arrived at the bleachers, it seemed that they were already being used by a familiar face and what looked to be a cheerleader, who were going at it like bunnies.
a normal person in this situation would cover their eyes or run, but sadie found this quite amusing. it was indeed, jack gilinsky who was screwing the tiny blonde, and she was making noises like a child would if it was being chased by a goose.
sadie couldn't help but let out a small snicker from under the bleachers while she was lighting her cigarette, which made the cheerleader stop her horrific moaning and start screeching.
"oh my god! there is someone under there!" she howled. "you pervert!" she huffed and continued to make remarks about how this was "unbelievable," but sadie could only think one thing.
"if you're screwing someone in public, you're kind of asking to be seen, aren't you? there are plenty of janitor closets with your name on it, sweetheart. i haven't even been here a full day and i know that."
"what are you, the campus slut?" she remarked as she got off the bleachers and looked at sadie. jack began to laugh at her remark.
"as a matter of fact, i am. if you know anyone that's down to fuck, let them know that a new bitch is in town." sadie smiled, taking another drag from her cigarette.
"smoking isn't attractive, you know." she said, crossing her arms.
"oh shit, it's not?" sadie remarked. "that sucks. i was really going for the whole 'i corrupt my body for the sake of popularity' look. maybe that's why i have made no friends."
"i'm your friend," jack smiled, taking a cigarette out of his pocket. "got a light?"
the blonde cheerleader marched off, still telling sadie under her breath how she was a whore, a slut, and whatever else her small, incompetent brain could think of.
sadie pulled her lighter from her bag and handed it to jack without looking him in the eye. he took notice and began to chuckle.
"so, now that we are alone again, i need more information about this whole 'fall in love' thing."
"i thought it was fairly self explanatory," sadie replied. "there is something different about you. if i fuck you, i will fall in love with you. i know myself better than you know anyone, trust me."
"i thought you were an expert at this," jack smirked. "were my sense wrong?"
sadie laughed. "if you want to talk to someone who loves sex and knows how to keep her feelings out of it, then you are looking at her, buddy. unfortunately though, the last time that i felt so intrigued when i met someone like you, i ended up falling flat on my ass. so, i will just continue to screw the same mediocre guys if it means that doesn't happen again. is that clear?"
jack was staring out onto the football field. he turned to sadie and gave the same seductive smirk he gave earlier.
"so miss priss is afraid. i have to say, i was expecting more from you. i thought you were better than that. but, if your heart matters to you that much, i will leave you alone."
he stood for a few more moments next to sadie, their forearms hitting when either one would take a breath.
"thanks for the light," he said quietly. "i better go, though. we don't want anyone to fall in love."
"it would be quite a shame, wouldn't it?" sadie whispered back in his ear, millimeters from his warm skin.
"fuck your feelings."
