David Hurt's Beauty in the Indigo Forest

Deep in the Indigo Forest,

Cascades of lavender

Fall softly

Upon her.

She is at peace,

No-one can see her,

No-one can hear her.

She is free...

A tiptoe away,

She spies Amethyst

Dragonflies courting

With lilac song.

Plum Birds of Paradise,

Dancing magenta feathers

To their song of violet love...

Then;

With a bite of a pomegranate,

She hears

A new sound...

Yet,

The creature it came from

Stays hidden from view...

She covers herself

With a giant leaf

From the giant Fandango tree...

Whispers from the Heliotrope bushes

Reveal the handsome spy...

He slipped on a Byzantium eggplant

And nearly poked out his right and prying eye...

They gaze helplessly at one another.

The beauty then smiles...

He,

Harmoniously

Responds...

Deep in the Indigo Forest,

Love bewitches

All...
