Red furs' fate

Chapter 2

Many moons later.....

(On patrol)
Redfur padded along a path hunting by sunningrocks, she flicked her ears up and heard a crack she looked across the frozen river to see a kit stranded on ice that was cracking under its paws, on instinct she raced across the ice with frost fur and the rest of the patrol yowling her name trying to get her to come back
She grabbed the kit only to hear the ice crumble and crack under paw, she slid the kit across the ice towards her patrol as she fell in the ice cold water, 'it's so.... Quiet and welcoming here' she thought, she felt a claw dig into her shoulder and then let go, she looked up to see lionheart swim back up and climb out knowing that he couldn't get her out, she tried to swim up after him but her paw got wedged in between two rocks , she struggled and finally got free only to be swept away, then she felt teeth fasten into her scruff and she was pulled onto a bank of an under water cavern
She gasped for breath and coughed and looked back into the water with her ears pinned to her head, "why did you save me?" Redfur asked looking up at the white and orange spotted tom ," because I couldn't just stand there and watch you die" he meowed and flicked his tail and padded forward "so what's your name?" He asked and sat down ,"my names redfur, and who are you?" She meowed and licked her paw "I am Flameclaw" he meowed "my mother used to be a clan cat but she ran away with us" he meowed his dark blue eyes flicking back and forth

(On the surface)
"What are you doing?!? Are you planning an invasion?!?" They heard a yowl from the other side of the bank , Frostfur looked up "Just saving one of your kits!" She yowled back , the river clan warriors raced over hissing and snarling "get away from my kit" one tom snarled and picked him up "I don't care if he was out on the ice I would have saved him!" The black tom hissed "You should be thankful, Greystone! Redfur gave up her life to save the kit!" She snarled "Redfur died..." The tom sounded like he was heartbroken
