CHAPTER3
‘Honey! Where have you been? We got so worried no notes nothing we even called that sweet boy Philip and he said you weren’t with him,’ My mother said rushing to the door pulling up my sleeves and checking my forehead. ‘What are you doing?’ I asked dead pan. ‘Oh you could have been doing anything.’ I pulled back, ‘Mum! I don’t bloody do drugs or go on strange trips with men! What is wrong with you?’ I ran to my room how disgusting. Sunk to my bed and hid under the covers, great mum thinks I’m some crazy girl. I wasn’t the one mixing herbs and trying to break my back doing yoga. Two days passed in my room again but I wanted to see someone mum was starting to really get on my nerves. I grabbed my over dated cell from my desk and scrolled down the contacts. First I stopped at Greg’s number and decided I didn’t really want to see those two so soon yet. I wanted to see Philip I just needed someone who didn’t fight back. ‘Hello? Is that you Rose?’ I sighed, ‘Yeah.’ I couldn’t be fucked telling him it was Pip. ‘Want to come over?’ I asked but then heard Hanna’s voice on the other line, ‘who’s that? Come back over here so we can finish what we started,’ I glared at the phone, ‘Uh, I can hear you’re busy never mind see you.’ I hung up. I looked at my fencing books that I’d never touched. I loved fencing it was my life and mum thought if I read about it I could improve even more but truthfully she just wanted me to read so I looked at the diagrams and gave up there. I got up and turned the computer on. It gave a little hum noise and switched on. I stared for a bit but then realised why I was on. I typed in Google in the search bar across the top and then typed in: ‘Silver Ray College’ it came up with our school so I scrolled to news. First thing on there as you can guess was ‘Death of Kelly Wills’ I read it for a while, it only said things like, ‘we hope the Wills family can recover and we wish them the best’ or ‘Kelly Wills was a great student who won a majority of dance metals’ nothing about the death its self. I groaned and opened a new tab to check face book I wasn’t one for it honestly but I still checked once a week. I went to chat and saw that Greg was on so I clicked it and started texting:

There really was someone so I got up and headed to the front door everyone else must have been out. ‘Hey?’ I said opening the door to find Philip. ‘Sorry I took so long,’ I shrugged, ‘Didn’t think you were going to come over,’ He shook his head, ‘I had to get away from Hanna anyway she was starting to want me to do stuff,’ He shuddered, ‘Ok well come in,’ I said slamming the door after him it was freezing outside. ‘Is Mike and Greg over?’ I stiffened wow this was going to be hard to explain, ‘No they’re busy,’ I lied. He frowned, ‘You’d think your best mates would come over,’ I nodded avoiding eye contact. ‘So coffee? Hot chocolate? Tea?’ I asked walking to the kitchen, ‘um hot chocolate best for winter, don’t you think?’ I nodded and turned on the hot water. ‘So you’re sick of Hanna?’ He stiffened on the counter stool. ‘Yeah pretty much.’ I hummed, ‘So break up with her,’ I suggested, ‘No,’ He quickly said turning slightly pink. ‘Oh why not? She won’t even care she’ll spread a rumour and find some other hotty’ He grinned, ‘What did you call me?’ I was the one to feel my cheeks burn. ‘Um. Well it is Hanna she doesn’t date just anyone.’ I said turning away and finding something to keep me busy, ‘so you’re jealous she has me and you don’t?’ I frowned, ‘Don’t flatter yourself Philip you might look good and be a mate but Mike also looks good and I’m not dating him.’ He chuckled, ‘Yeah but I’m not single, and you’re the one telling me to break up with Hanna.’ I choked on a cough, ‘I look out for my mates if they need to be told who’s a bitch and who is going to break their hearts than I’m the one who has to do it,’ He looked at me sternly when I glanced at him poring hot water into the coco filled mugs. ‘Well Rosemarie,’ I groaned, ‘It’s Pip, and Rose isn’t even short for that if it was I’d die,’ he didn’t seem to care for the request, ‘well Rose I’m still with her, I mean I don’t just date anyone,’ I stirred then stopped, ‘So you’re saying you actually see something more than boobs that seem to want to pop out and escape her even more then I do,’ I laughed he turned pink, ‘Well of cause I do, at first I only did it because you know Greg he would go for any chick who makes him look good so he kind of forced it. Then I was going to break up with her but she started fencing. I mean I’m not sure why but fencing is extremely sexy.’ I went red but not as red as he did, ‘I didn’t just say that,’ I nodded, ‘Yeah you did lover boy,’ then for some reason we both just cracked up. So for a while he and I just talked and drank. I was starting to feel at ease when I heard a shuffling noise behind I’m not sure what made me do it but I shrieked I wasn’t ready for a robbery it could be a bloody murderer! ‘No one is going to murder you Rose,’ Said Philip I clasped my hand to my mouth fuck I was thinking out loud. I turned to take another sip of hot chocolate when I realised I had finished it. My black cat Coal jumped off the table and I noticed it had been him making the racked, ‘Coal! Babe you freaking scared me half to death come here.’ He purred and closed his orange eyes. Yes my cat has orange eyes I wasn’t sure about flame burn or coal, but when we found he was a male I decided coal was best. ‘Babe?’ I whipped around, ‘Yes my cat is a babe are you jealous because he has me and you don’t,’ I teased. ‘You wish,’ He retorted. I grinned, ‘Not really but it’s the thought that counts if that’s what keeps you asleep at night,’ I said smirking, ‘I dream of more than just woman,’ I grinned perfect, ‘So you’re dreaming about Greg and Mike? Fine with me always wanted another gay friend.’ He face palmed, ‘Hanna doesn’t look like a guy,’ I chuckled, ‘Well maybe you should break up with her.’ I said, he looked sunburnt in the winter of being pissed off, ‘Maybe I was going to but someone has changed my mind,’ I widened my eyes, ‘you aren’t going to because of me?’ He nodded, ‘I’ll prove she’s not who you think and stay with her to throw that in and if I fail I’ll break up with her.’ I smiled patting Coal, ‘deal, I’ll prove you wrong and if you are right I’ll, I will do yoga.’ He cocked his head, ‘yoga?’ I nodded then shuddered, ‘mum wants me to do it but I really don’t see the point.’ He pulled out his hand, ‘deal.’ We shook and he reached for his phone, ‘I’d better go Rose, see you at school tomorrow.’ I walked him to the door and gave him a quick hug before slamming the door. So I guess I was going to school tomorrow. Great.
