Chapter 2 An uninvited guest

"Y/n you look gorgeous!" Your mother squealed when you twirled around in your new fancy dress.
It was almost time for the royal banquet,the sun was going down and you weren't nervous....you were TERRIFIED.
"You'll think Zelda will approve me mother?" You asked. "Don't worry about the dress Y/n-" "n-no I mean...she also said I might be a royal guard...." You stuttered.
"A royal guard?" Your mother asked
"Yes..it's something I've kind of want to do." You responded . "I think she will Y/n, I mean you helped link yesterday in the town why wouldn't she?" Your mother smiled.
You inhaled deeply of the thought zelda making you a guard, not only would you become a guard you'll become the first female guard!
  Your mother checked out the window
"Sweetie it's almost dusk you better go now." You mother walked with you to the door. "Oh one more thing!" Your mother gasped before running off.
When she came back she had a small tiara. "I've had this ever since I was little girl." Your mother sighed happily looking at the tiara before putting it on your head. "There," she smiled taking at step back to look at you. She sighed placing her hands over her heart. "You just look gorgeous." Your mother hugged and kissed you on the cheek. "I'll be back mother." You said breaking the hug gently. Your mother had tears in her eyes. "Aw ma don't cry.." You whispered wiping the tears from her eyes.  She nodded okay and touched your cheek before you left for the banquet. With your hair in a braid it just completed you.

  You made your way back down the dirt road through the town to Zelda's castle.
The doors were wide open while guards checked every face. You walked past the guards who eyeballed you careful but let you carry on.
The castle was so fancy on the inside you thought you were going to faint right there on the spot.
In the corner of your right eye, in front of the great hall stood Zelda and link.
Link looked different without his shield and sword. Suddenly zelda caught your glance and approached you ever so elegantly.
"Greetings Y/n I thought I recognized you." Zelda smiled in her soft voice.
"Your highness." You bowed, Zelda smiled at your manners.
"Come come." She ordered softly. You and link were guided to a very...very VERY long table.
"I'll shall sit on the edge with you and link by my side." Zelda explained.
"But your highness I haven't been any service only important Hylains are allowed at the edge of the table." You said confused.
"You have done service why you helped link with some naughty Hylains marketers." princess Zelda smiled.
"Let's sit." Zelda instructed.
Zelda then picked up a glass and gently tapped on it.
Every grew quiet and took their seats, you sat across Link on Zelda's left.
"A toast to our hero Link and our female guard in training!" Zelda declared.
Every clapped and cheered while holding their cups.
  Everyone began eating and chatting, you talked to zelda about starting training the next day.
"You know Y/n I've seen potential in you and I was thinking you should become more than a royal guard." Zelda pleaded, "what do you mean princess?" You asked confused.
"How would you like to accompany-"
Zelda was interrupted by all the fire in the dining hall going out, gasps filled the room and it grew very dark.
Suddenly a large flame floated on top of the table in the middle of everyone.
Link stood up reaching for his back, he realized he didn't have his shield and sword.
  Out of the flame an almost exact copy a link emerged. The only differences were that he didn't have a shield and sword or icy blue eyes. His eyes were blacked out with red pupils and black tears ran down his cheeks.
  "Hahaha did I.....interrupt something?" The boy asked in a distorted voice.
"Oh zelda...your having a party and didn't invite me? How rude!" The boy acted crushed. The copy slowly floated toward zelda then turned his attention toward Link.
"Awww did boy hero forget he's weapons." The copy taunted.
"W-who are you?" Zelda asked trying to remain calm.
"Ha! Who am I? Who Am I! I am Benjamin! The most likely to destroy this wimp!" Benjamin pointed at Link who was angry now.
Benjamin looked at zelda then at you.
He floated in front of you with his face close to yours making your heart beat a million times a second in fear.
"And who is this?" He asked tilting his head.
You swallowed hard looking into his heart piercing eyes.
"Y-y/n" you stuttered.
"Huh I've never seen you around here before..." He said backing up a little bit.
"Eh just another soul to add to my collection." Benjamin then crackled and quickly grabbed link by the throat and lifted him into the air.
" I think I'll start with the one I hate most!" Ben smiled evilly. Everyone in the room gasped. Link was helpless without his sword and shield all he could was struggle in BENs grip. You had to do something!
Quickly you stood up, grabbed two knives and threw them at Benjamin which hit him dead in the back.
Benjamin hissed and looked at you dropping link leaving him gasping for air.
"You shouldn't have done that..." Benjamin growled floating toward you..
"You think I'm scared of you! Well I'm not!" You yelled at him grabbing a fork.
BEN tilted his head "huh...what a brave soul..." He's eyes started to glow and more tears seeped down his face.
"Well i tell you what...you'll-"
BEN was interrupted by the sound of the great clock.
"Oops looks like I've overstayed my welcome.." BEN chuckled looking at the clock then back at you.
"I'll deal with you later." He smiled an evil smile before disappearing into ashes.
Aid was given to Link by Zelda  before she turned to you and said "y/n your training will begin another time you will go with link to defeat who ever that was. But first you'll need a sword and shield follow me."
  Your jaw dropped your going on your first adventure with Link!
Link must of over heard because when you looked back over to him, he did not seem pleased.
Zelda quickly walked down an hall way with huge brown doors. She opened it and in a case was a white version of links outfits. It had black straps with black boots. Even the hat was just like his only white.
The shield looked like links but it had a black wolf under the Hylain symbol.
The sword was almost like Link's just the handle was normal.
Zelda opened the case and handed you the outfit. The sword and shield were surprisingly light. "Hurry change! Link will be departing soon."
When you finished changing you walked into the hall where Zelda was waiting petrified.
Your sword and shield stayed attached to your back as zelda grabbed your hand and quickly guided you down the castle to the front doors.
Link was waiting with his stuff on Epona. "Here is your horse Y/n he's name is Oni. He's very loyal and friendly." Zelda bite her lip.
Oni looked like a strong horse he was a little bolder the Epona. His fur was a light gray with a white patch on his left eye.
You jumped on Oni who didn't move a muscle but neighed thrilled.
"Don't worry y/n Link will teach you along the way." Zelda called,You nodded. Link still did not look very pleased...but very tense. Link then gently nudged Epona on the side which signaled Epona to run down the dirt road.
Oni and you followed close behind.
This as been your life long dream to accompany link on his mission but now you were actually nervous, you didn't even know what you were up against.
How powerful was this BEN? It was going to be a long journey and your mother didn't even know you were leaving.....
