"We'll miss you, Hermione," said my father as he kissed my forehead. I could see that he was holding back tears despite his smile. My mother was unable to speak for fear of causing a scene with her gut wrenching sobs. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents; but I would only be at Hogwarts for a school year and then I'd be back. It's not like I hadn't done this before. I mean it was my fourth year here for crying out loud.
I checked my watch, a gift from the Weasleys. It was almost 8 o'clock, and the Hogwarts Express never left late. If I didn't hurry, I'd be left behind. I quickly gave both my parents a huge hug and said, "I'll see you as soon as I can! Look for my owl!"
I ran through the pillar that would take me to Platform 9 3/4, ran onto the waiting train, and finally stopped to catch my breath next to Fred and George.
"Hi Hermione. Where's the fire?" asked Fred. I had a skill for telling them apart.
"Maybe she's running from Ron. He talks about her enough. He could have chased her off," replied George. At that I blushed. I knew they were joking, but it gave me a weird feeling when I thought of Ron talking about me. I opened my mouth to reply when Fred cut me off.
"Last time I saw him, he was with Harry so I'd go to your usually booth to find your little lovebird," Fred chuckled and soon George's laugh joined in.
Blushing like mad, I made me way down the long corridor of the Hogwarts Express, until I got to our booth and found my two best friends waiting for me.
