"Alyssa" my father screamed.

"What" I hollared back.

"We have to go now" he said as I ran down the stairs.

"Why" I asked.

"Your mothers in labour" he said as he helped mum to the car.

I ran back upstairs grabbed my phone, charger, and sweatshirt. Who knows how long I'll be there, I'll just charge it there. I ran in the kitchen and poured some coffee in a to go cup and ran while putting the lid on. I ran out the door and jumped in the car, hitting my head in the process.

* At the hospital *

My dad told me to sit out in the hallway but I didn't feel like sitting, so I wandered the halls. I walked over to a vending machine and looked through my pockets. Finally I found a crumpled 5 dollar bill in my back pocket. I pushed in B3 for a bottle of water, and it came crashing down into the bin. I grabbed my water and my change and began wandering again.

I walked by tons of rooms with elderly people in them, nurses swarming in and out of them. I walked by several with younger and older children in them. Then I walked by a room full of babies. I looked around at the name cards at the end of the beds for the name Daniels. I kept on looking and spotted the name card but the baby wasn't in there, so I went back to my mums room.

When I made it back I just sat down and tried to listen to what the doctor was saying.

"Mrs Daniels your free to go now, but take it careful for a week" he said.

"Thank you" my mother responded, her voice barely over a whisper.

There was a shuffle and then the door opened. My dad stepped out, supporting my mum.

" If you have any questions, do call the hospital and don't forget to take to laying down for a while" he said while walking passed us.

"Let's go home now" my father said while leading my mum over to the elevator.

The ride down was filled with small talk and mostly quiet but peaceful silence. We walked through the lobby and out the doors of the hospital. My dad went to get the car while me and mum waited upfront I helped her get in and jumped in the back.

Dad asked if we wanted to listen to music and my mum said I could pick the track. I hadn't noticed mum had the baby with her until it started crying. She started rocking it back and forth trying to calm it down. My dad turned of the music and it stopped crying.

I never found out what gender and what the babys' name was so I asked now.

"It's a boy Lyss, and his name is Carter" my mum replid.

I found paper and a pencil in the compartment in-between the seats and started to draw. I drew a tree, leafs blowing in the wind. I drew me, mum, dad, and baby Carter. Our hair swaying in the wind and big goofy grins on our faces.

I told my mum and dad to look and they looked back. Those 2.4 seconds that they looked at the paper, a minivan swerved around the corner and crashed into the front of the car. My dad hollared out our names, but I heard nothing from mum.

I looked up to where my mum was sitting and seen blood pooling in the seat below her. I put my hand on her shoulder and gently shook her but got no reply. I seen baby Carter in my mother's hands, but I could only see his feet. I looked over to my father and he was searching for something, then pulled out his cell phone.

I could see blood flowing down from a big cut on his head. He called 911 and told them where we were. He dropped the phone and layed back against the seat. After about a minute his eyes started to close.

I looked from my mum to my dad and started to cry. They were dead, but I come of barely injured. That's when I felt the pain in my head, chest and in my leg. I looked down to my leg and almost threw up. It was bent at an impossible angle and the pain increased majorly.

I cried and cried until I couldn't no more. I heard faint sirens, they got closer and I could see the lights.
My vision started to get blurry and my head started to hurt more. I closed my eyes and drifted out in nothingness.
