Panting, Lily and I slowly paddle home down the long, winging sidewalk. After a while, we arrive at my large, wooden house that is -not so coincidentally- exactly like everyone else's. It's a bit sad, realizing how non-artistic the neighborhood looks. The Society says it "prevents bad things from happening and gives us all a sense of equality". Whatever.
Lily and I park our bikes in the bike stands outside of my house. "I'm home!" I say as we walk inside. My parents and sister are sitting at the kitchen table. My sister is working on homework, while my parents work on their laptops. My mother is a tall, elegant woman with stylish blonde hair, flawless light skin, and is always making a simple outfit look amazing. My father is also quite tall, but he has dark hair and wears large-rimmed glasses and is always wearing a white polo with a bow tie and khaki pants. Honestly, I've never seen him in anything but a polo and bow tie. My sister is a hyper, redheaded seven-year-old ball of energy. She's quite an interesting person to be around.
I'm sure you're all probably wondering who I am. As I said before, my name is Ali, and I'm 17 years old. I'm tall, and I have long, red hair that I almost always wear in a side braid. I'm not that stylish, but I at least know how to put a decent outfit together. I'm not that bad.
