Your POV

"Seriously? The gym again? That's the third week in a row!" (Y/B/F/N) complained from behind me as I was tying my hair up out of my face. I was wearing a pair of Under Armour leggings and sports bra with my trainers.

I shrugged. "You know how much I like to work out."

"Yeah, but you usually do it here. What was the point of converting the spare bedroom into your own personal gym if you constantly use a public gym instead?" I didn't respond. "Exactly!"

She stood in front of me, stopping me from exiting the room. "If you like this girl so much then just ask her out."

A couple of weeks ago, when I was on a run, I seen possibly the most gorgeous girl I have ever laid eyes on entering the gym a couple of blocks from my house. Ever since then I've been going to that gym, trying to build up the confidence to speak to her, but every time I feel confident enough to walk up to her, she looks at me and I lose all train of thought and forget what words are.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I try avoiding the conversation, as usual.

"Nuh-uh! I'm not letting it go this time. If you don't grow a set of balls and talk to her, then I'll do it for you."

I froze in my spot as my eyes widened in fear. She's not bluffing, she's done it before and it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, and I don't get embarrassed easily!

"I've got your attention now haven't I?" I slowly turned around to face her. "(Y/N), you must really like this girl if you're going through this much trouble. All I'm saying is talk to her. If you don't then what's the point of still going to this gym?"

I nodded knowing she's right. "I'll talk to her. Somehow." I said the last part quietly, but I know that she heard me by her response.

"Don't worry (Y/N/N), I believe in you! You can do it!" She then went on to sing Ice Cube's 'You Can Do It'. This is my best friend everyone.

I laughed at her horrendous 'dancing' before leaving the house and starting my jog to the gym.

I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed when I realised that the breathtaking beauty was nowhere to be seen.

I sighed, sadly, before making my way towards the treadmill. I always start in a light jog before picking up my speed.

I ran around 3 miles before moving onto the lat pull. I chose a fair weight before sitting down and raising my arms to pull down the bar.

Down. Up. Down. Up. It was too easy so I stood back up, added more weight and continued on, only this time I remained standing.

I spent a few hours circulating my way around the machines and getting as good a workout as I could.

The thing I hate the most about public gyms is the staring. I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't always big, sweaty, thirty year old men most of the time. I certainly wouldn't mind it if it was the stunning brunette I've been keeping an eye out for. She hadn't came in the whole time I was there.

I was beginning to worry that I had scared her out of using the gym. What if she knew I looked at her all the time and was creeped out by it? Oh, God! Why do I always mess everything up before it even starts?

I've been here long enough and it's obvious she's not going to show up so I picked up my water bottle and left.

Since we were already well into winter, it was already dark out. I was a few streets away from the gym when I faintly heard a soft voice.
