"Do you know why our world has come to this?" A voice echoes in Clayden's head.
"The broken cities, constant fires, and the distressed people. There was a time before the humans knew they destroyed the world. Do you not believe me? I don't blame you.I did not believe Them at first either. Now that I am one of them, and you are soon to be, you should know. There used to be a time before the world was doomed. There was a time before electronics, without desperation, before the world fell. Would you believe me if I told you that our world's doomed fate was sealed by a bunch of teenagers? You don't trust me? Maybe you should."
The voice seems to come from nearby suddenly. "You are going to die soon. You will be dead, just like me, but you deserve to know how the world was doomed before you join us."
"Come, traveler. Let me show you the Mirror Pool."
Clayden turns around to see a person gliding away while beckoning to him. Their feet seem to glide a few inches above the ground, but they still mimic walking. He follow the person cautiously even though you are both unarmed. The stranger leads you into one of the few forests left where there are wide gaps of space between the few trees. They lead him to a small, dark pond and look down at it.
"This is the Mirror Pool, though it does not look like much. You can see into any part of history, but not the future. You can see path's that can be traveled later in time, but you can not be sure which will be chosen. I am going to bring you back in time. I will show you how our world came to be doomed." the stranger whispers.
As he leans over the stranger's shoulder to look into the still pool, Clayden notices something. The strangers eyes seem to be torn out and dark, hollow sockets filled their place. It seems to notice his surprise and horror and chuckles. Next thing he knows the stranger shoves his head into the pool. It feels cold like being frozen in ice. Clayden gasps for breath where there is none and struggles to pull his head above the surface. The stranger pushes harder and he can see their shoulders moving up and down as they laugh. He start to get dizzy and panic over comes him. Clayden pushes and struggles and lunges at anything getting between him and life. A strange cold feeling seems to trickle down his back as your eyes grow heavy. He takes one last look at the surface of the pond, as the world fades to black.
Clayden seem to be floating, lost.
It's dark.
He can't see a thing.
His heart beats rapidly in his chest.
"Have I died yet?" Clayden fuzzily thinks.
"Am I stuck here forever?" he worries.
Lights suddenly flare down. He can see.
Clayden blinks rapidly to adjust.
He loosk around and realize you are floating above the ground. He now seem to be a ghost going along for the ride. He feel like he is trapped. He can't control anything. "Hopefully this is not permanent." he worries. He inwardly sighs and looks to see where he is being taken.
