I was just an ordinary man
Living in suburban land
Two kids to feed, a loving wife, what more do I need?
Well it was a Tuesday morning after dropping off my children
Went to work all of a sudden the day turned strange
Co-workers looked amazed, television and radio tuned in to the same subject
Plane hit the World Trade Center, reactions:
"Oh fuck",
"What the hell",
"Dumb ass pilot",
All the people who died
Fathers, mothers, sons, daughters
All for nothing it ain't hard to tell
Workday turned into a mass public funeral
We were all hoping the military would do something and save more lives
But things had gone from bad to worst
Other struck by another plane
Jeez, that airline must have some wack pilots
Or gave the license to the wrong guy
DEFCON reached level three
This wasn't no accident this was an attack
Damn, people in Manhattan all being evacuated
Marching the Brooklyn Bridge
Shit seemed like the entire city was falling down
Then I heard about D.C., did the President D-I-E?
He didn't of course, but now we witnessed people lose their lives
All of them are now resting in peace, murals, museums, landmarks
Their names forever engraved, they played a major part in the history of the 21st century
And in return our rights, our money, our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and fiancées were taken away
Thanks to the wars that were declared in retaliation to that day.And to think it was to spread peace and prosperity throughout the world
It seems that it was only to let the problems grow
Now I see more terrorist groups on the news
Branching out from the rotten tree
The other branches include crimes, violence, and diseases
Why you wanna send our ass to more countries
Thank you for your sacrifice that's what they say
But that sacrifice can include the soldier's woman sleeping with another man
In their bed, while he's out on the other side of the map
Burning in the fucking sand
And also the neglect of the soldier's children
Too traumatized to play some ball and he doesn't wanna talk as much
Look at the drawings she made for him but he's just gonna put it somewhere and forget it was ever there
Your oil, your freedom, your money
Is that what we're fighting for that shit sounds totally backwards
And now this is how you want my generation marching onto
Bitch fuck you and your fake love
We don't care about your fear
We ain't the ones that are scared
Uncle Sam can suck a fat one
I want him to burn in hell!
Top of the world
It's tempting to jump off of it.
