Surprise visit

I curled up into a ball, trying not to cry anymore. Why was I crying? My Aunt Kathy had been in a car crash. She was the closest thing I've ever had to a mother, and now I might loose her. Ricki, Emma, Cleo and Billy had been doing all they could. I stayed home from school today, and stayed in my room in complete darkness. The curtains were drawn shut, to keep out the light. "She's not going to live with you, Lily!" I heard Dad yell. Lily was my mother's name. Oh god. "She has too!" She yelled back. I ran down stairs and faced the one who abandoned me when I needed her the most. When she left me, and Dad for another man to raise another family. "Melody, do you want to go with her?" Dad asked softly. "No!" I shook my head. "And you can't make me!" I pointed an accusing finger at My mother. "You will never be my mother!" And with that, I ran back to my room, slamming the door and locking it.
