"Well then, the year according to your calenders was 1853 BC. I was born to a normal family, mother, farther and a little brother. We lived in peace until one day ..."

As he spoke he started to paint a picture for the listeners of his story.

A mud hut stood in the middle of a small village, the door covered by an animal pelt. Inside sat two small boys, a mother over a iron cooking pot and a father using a circular whetstone to sharpen his sword. The hut was arranged neatly around the fire pit in the centre with various trinkets on the walls. One corner was the sleeping area that had a divide down the middle. To the left of this was two large chests for keeping weapons and cloths in. Above these was a weapons rack holding two more swords and a single sided axe. Then was the door, then what seemed to be a kitchen area. The floor here was stained a deep red colour, the wood of the table too. Above this table were knifes, hammers, pots and pans and bowls for serving.

"Will the raiders come back this year?" The older of the two boys asked.

"Its the same time as last year lad, it should be any day now." The dads face hung heavy as he explained this to the boys. The mother froze still.

"We will be fine. Your father is here this year." Mother spoke with sorrow in her voice, yet her face showed signs of relief. "We lost many last year, we will be fine now."

The boys looked at each other with there mothers explanation. Both looked settled with what they heard.

"Its time to eat. Come on." Mother started filling bowls with a steaming broth.

"Can I help father?" Again the old spoke. Both of his parents faces dropped.

"My lad, you are still too young. Practice more and one day you will stand beside me." A jester of his head point the gaze of the boy towards the swords hanging over by the door. "And one day, my sword will become yours." He placed his hand on his sword, which was tucked into his belt. Both of the boys looked and continued eating.

Many days pasted with the family and the village going about the daily routines. Fetching water, tending to the animals, washing, eating and sleeping soundly.

"Grab the boys and hide in the back of the house." The father grabbed his sword and tightened his belt. "Go now!" He shouted this again and ran out the hut. As the door moved aside the family could only see black and crimson. The raiders had come.
