So this new story is actually pretty old, but I decided I'm going to finish it even if its the last thing I do! >:D mwahaha-ahha
.-. Anyways, this chapter is a bit sad, but it's just a filler to jump start the whole story...you know, a little background on the character. But trust me it gets exciting in the next two chapters, so hold on to your seats and enjoy the read! :D

May 23, 2012
A bright light flashed suddenly against the dark walls of the room. It was empty, save for the short, stout man who sat patiently across from Sydney Watters.
His uniform immediately told her that he was a police officer, but it didn’t intimidate her in the least.
His gray eyes studied her intently, neither of them speaking in the awkward silence that had long settled since they brought her there. Finally, the man cleared his throat and leaned forward slightly, extending a hand to Sydney.
“Miss Watters, I beg your pardon. I’m being terribly rude. My name is Jude Colton.”
She stared at his hand quietly, as though it could strike her at any moment.
Eventually his hand lowered, and he cleared his throat once again. “Do you know why you’re here, Miss Watters?”
She shook her head. “Look, if this is about the porn videos in my truck, they’re not even mine-“
“This is definitely not about your videos,” Mr. Colton said uncomfortably. Sidney hid her smile at his expression, but she managed to maintain a neutral composure. “I’m sure you are familiar with Miss Antonella Quinton and Rae Preston, am I right?”
“Uh, I don’t know a Miss Rae Preston.”
He slammed his hands on the table between us. “Oh for heaven’s sake. If you want to play this game, go ahead. We’ll play this game. We know you know where they are, Miss Watters. They’ve been missing for the past two months, and unfortunately for you, you’re the only one we could find that’s ever had a connection to them.”
“Well I can assure you that I have no idea where they are. I have a life, I don’t just keep track on the lives of all my friends. Do you?”
“Sarcasm noted,” he said quite patiently. “Whether or not you do know where they are, we’ll find the truth somehow. I’ll make sure of it. It’s all a matter of telling us now or waiting for us to force it out of you. Besides, you’re not leaving until you do.”
Sydney opened her mouth in horror, but none of her usual retorts came out. “W-what could I have possibly done to deserve this? It’s not like I’m actually Anya, I’m her best friend! But even best friends keep secrets from each other, one being where she actually lives. Who knows, she might even be dead by now.” By this time, tears began to well up in her eyes, and she blinked several times to keep them from streaking her face. She wouldn’t look weak in front of him, she had to be strong.”
Mr. Colton sighed and ran a hand through his gray hair. Years of stress must have caught up to him, but his face looked fairly young. “Fine. If you can’t tell me where they are, then at least start by telling me how they met and ended up in New York?”
Sydney laughed dryly. “It’s a pretty long story…”
“I’ve got time,” he said with a serious expression in his eyes. There was something in the way was he looked at her that was somehow gentle and encouraging. She knew then that she was definitely going to regret what she was about to do. It’s not my story to tell, she thought. And with a heavy sigh, she began, “It all started in Yokohama, Japan…”
